Mario was incredibly knowledgable about every part of the museum, and the history of medicine in Italy, as well as universally. He was so generous with his time and the information he knows. Everybody in the museum was very helpful and friendly. The museum itself is full of interesting information and objects. Definitely a great place to visit, even if you are not particularly interested in the medical field :)

The tour is only in italian, though they did give us a (10+ page) booklet that presumably covered most of the same things. The tour visited three rooms which had a range of historically relevant medical artefacts but all signs were only in Italian. The rooms were certainly interesting but the tour lingered far to long in each room which made it a bit boring.

The old pharmacy is definitely great and beautiful and worth seeing. However the tour itself was disappointing. First of all it was 1.5h long, far too long for what there was to see and 10 Euros seems an excessive price. The tour was only in Italian and the guides were very enthusiastic, but apart from the pharmacy itself, the museum itself was not interesting, presenting the history of medical practice in Naples in far too great detail in my opinion. The other main negative part was that everything is situated in a working hospital, and towards the end of the tour we were shown some nice courtyards by going through various hospital departments which was far from pleasing.

When we booked for the tour of the old Pharmacy we were told that the tours are only in Italian. We decided to go anyway because that would be the only way to see the old pharmacy. Although we barely understood what the guide said it was really worthwhile to go. The rest of the museum is very interesting with the old pharmacy the definite highlight. Sadly no photos allowed inside but beautiful to see

An enthusiastic and very well-prepared guide lead us in a 2-hour tour ranging from the history of medicine of the Reign to the breathtaking Pharmacy dating back to 1700. The Museum relies exclusively on private donations and on voluntary work delivered by the association 'il faro di ippocrate'.

We were lucky to have the benefit of English speaking guide Francesca who was enthusiastic and guided us during the visit. She was excellent. Sad that the overall building is in a state of neglect but the farmacia is a jewel! We 100% recommend a visit.

Where art meets history and science. Mind blowing. A must see. Make sure you check the opening hours and days. Our great volunteer guide, Mr. Camillo, was not only knowledgeable but also enthusiastic. I'd give it a triple thumbs up!!

A pharmacy where science and alchemy blend. Stunning stucco, paintings, furniture. A magical place. Interesting also the Museum of Health Arts. Is inside a hospital that cures patients for over 500 years ... amazing. Inquire about opening hours!

One of the most interesting sights we saw.. Only view-able as part of a tour. To see it, email them at the address on the website to book in advance. The tour goes to both the pharmacy and the Museum of Medical History. You can request an English language tour guide, but they may not be able to provide one.

The pharmacy was breathtaking and haunting. That part of the tour was with a guide who only spoke Italian, but the English language handout they gave us was adequate.

The medical museum was very educational and disturbing. We had an English speaking guide for this section.

Highly recommended as both an important part of Neapolitan history and a beautiful sight to see.

Give yourself time to find it as it is part of a larger hospital complex.

After reading other reviews I was excited to go and see this interesting medical museum. Upon arrival we were told that you can only see the museum with a guided tour at 10 euros each. No problem. Tours give you a lot more information right? We waited a half hour for the tour to start and went outside with the group to listen to the guide. But the guide only spoke Italian. We only speak English. After listening to Italian for 15 minutes outside while the guide pointed to different parts of the building facade we went and asked for our money back , which they gave us, and left. I wish they would have had a hand held audio tour.
