We had a half day visit to Sant Angelo, we took the bus from Ischia Casamicciola and went around the island until the end of the bus line. The little city has amazing houses, colorful and very nice and coloured tiles, which we loved. It was our goal to see this beautiful enchanting little village and take a bath in the sea. We also climbed up to the rocks, where many people were enjoying the sun. We took a boat instead and went to Maronti beach where we had a nice stay and ended our day by swimming in the deep blue and crystal clear water. You have to visit Sant Angelo, if you are on Ischia island!

Came here purely by chance when the Thomas Cook fiasco lost us our holiday to Paxos. Ischia is a wonderful island & St Angelo must be the best village for sun, relaxation & good food, especially if you like seafood. Really good hotels & Ristorantes, plenty activities & a few shops if you really must go shopping on a holiday!! The village also has the advantage of no traffic. Cars are banned & you get around in foot, by boat or in the electric golf buggies. We were lucky enough to catch the village festival during our stay. It was a wonderful community event & I have never ever seen such an extensive & lengthy display of fireworks-absolutely stupendous.

This is a very cute little fishing town. We spent a day there on the beach. Deck chair and beach umbrella cost € 35 for three people. At the beginning of September we had plenty of space and it did not seem overcrowded. The water seemed clean and we saw lots of fish. There a many nice shops and restaurants and the orange juice stall at the bus stop was very good.

First of all I don't understand why this place is listed on Tripadvisor but not Lacco Ameno which is equally nice if not better. I tried it once to list it but it was inexplicably rejected and given the quantity of reviews of Sant'Angelo it could have been equally successful. You get to Sant'Angelo with the local bus CD, CS or 1 which all depart from the central bus stop near the port. It's on the other part of the island and thereby the travel time is about 1 hour with a walk at the last part of it. With it's central square it reminds Capri. Here is also the 4 star hotel where Angela Merkel makes traditionally her holiday. Go up the narrow streets and enjoy the views from above.
