It's been 30 years almost to the day but I remember this store quite well, with the walls adorned with many famous celebrities, real celebrities, from the golden age of Hollywood, who had shopped here. We were in Italy for the 1990 World Cup and made the short trip from Naples for the day. Schettino's was one of the stores we dropped into and I did buy some sandals. Well worth the visit to Capri and Schettino's. Very friendly people by memory. And make the trip up the hill by the funicular, spectacular views from there. The 1958 movie It Happened In Naples, starring Clark Gable and Sophia Loren, was partly shot up there. Gable's photo was one of those photos on the wall at Schettino's. Try to see the movie first, you'll recognise the backdrop to many scenes.

I bought a pair of shoes from what I thought were lovely people. They had an issue with the card machine and asked that I retry the transaction. The next day on checking my banking I saw that they had taken the money twice. After contacting them they have promised a refund but it has been a month and nothing - DO NOT TRUST THEM! I have a business and they could easily have done the refund on the machine. DONT BUY SHOES HERE

Very Capri feel small shop, but if you are after the hand made Capri sandals experience you have to look somewhere else. The sandals are hand made but "ready made", they will not be crafted for you by an artisan. Aldo is fine guy, but i heard him being rude to many customers. If you do not buy anything straight way he is getting frustrated. I bought shoes, because i like the idea to support an old family business at a first place although i wish they was kinder to the people around, but i bought sandals from somewhere else where an artisan hand crafted them for me and personalised. I watched any single step and i was involved with the make to attach a great memory to them not just the next purchase commercial feel. Aldo will not do this for you, but you still can get some ready made nice soft shoes or sandals. The sandals are outdated models, i liked the ballerina style silver nappa, they are ok for the summer.

In a sea of high-end designer stores and too many tourists, Schettino and its owners are a breath of fresh air. My shoes are the softest leather, great quality, and it feels good to support a family-owned, local business.

I have finally found the sandals of my dreams. Simple and beautiful, handmade for me and not that expensive. Shopping here was a joy. Thank you!
