About
This picturesque seaside village is one of the sunniest and warmest spots on the island of Capri, Marina Piccola. According to legend, the cliffs here were where Odysseus was bewitched by the Sirens. Enjoy a dip in the morning or early afternoon at one of the public pebble beaches or private beach clubs when the water is calmest, and book a boat tour of the Faraglioni rock formations in the late afternoon or early evening when the light is softer. High season attracts large crowds so plan ahead. Consider visiting in the shoulder season when crowds are manageable and temperature pleasant. – Tripadvisor

If you can find a tour that takes you around the coast of Capri, the scenery is stunning and if you get the chance to go for a swim then certainly do so, but just make sure you don’t actually get off the boat and onto Capri

You expect to get fleeced (having to pay to even visit the island should be a warning), but you’ll also pay upwards of €3.50 for a warm can of Coke (not a restaurant or bar price, just a can of Coke over the counter)

You also run the risk that the coastguard or harbour master decides that only one boat can pickup from the jetty every twelve minutes, such that the boats in front of your boat equate to a two hour delay for hundreds of people in 33C full sunlight with no warning and no shade (but lots of warm Coke is available at a ridiculous price)

Lastly, the Blue Grotto had a two hour queue and €20 entrance fee, so everyone on board decided no to bother

So, overall, the island, its coast and sea swimming are amazing… just avoid anything and everything in on the land

If you want to find that place on the world of extreme natural beauty then look no further than Capri. This Marina, the water, the sun soaked rocks is breath taking. You look out and see the glittering turquoise water so clear you think it’s CGI. No wonder every celeb comes sailing up to Capri. Take the bus or taxi if you leave the marina as walking here is not for the faint hearted as there are no pavements, it’s steep and it’s hot.
The water is perfect to cool off and make sure your phone /camera has plenty of battery as you’ll want to capture everything. You’ll need deep pockets too as everything in Capri and sorrento seems to cost €20, a slice of pizza, a gelato, taxi… but YOLO right?

After having tried all the beaches in the island, this is the best area for swimming. But do not make it so late, as at 4.30 will be in the shade... Not even worth to take the bus. From Capri, you make it there in 20min, and can enjoy the wonderful view while going down.

What an amazing experience we had on this tour. Our host Hugo and Gianni (skipper) were fabulous and made our trip that much more enjoyable. My wife and I sat at the front of the boat and with chilled music playing, Capri island in front of us with the most amazing coloured water it was heaven especially when we stopped off for a swim. The island itself is beautiful but with two small beers accompanied by a small tomato mozzarella salad at 51 euro make sure to take some food with you.

Capri is spectacularly beautiful.
However, I was put off by the hordes of thousands of day trippers that pack the streets of central Capri. It’s like being at Times Sq. In NYC as the Broadway shows are opening… VERY UNPLEASANT.
Nonetheless, there are areas of awesomeness me beauty. I WAS lucky to find Capri City moderately busy from 1-4 pm one afternoon and it was magical.
Advice… try to visit in shoulder season.

We spent a few hours at Marina Piccolo which in comparison to other parts of Capri is rather tranquil there is a section of public beach there which can be rather crowded as well as some private beach clubs.

A few restaurants located here with some fabulous views and some beachside cafes with tables on the public beach a great place to people watch. An enjoyable few hours spent here with a nice leisurely lunch. Before heading back to the bedlam of Capri town.

I wouldn't go back, at least in August. Saturated beaches, dirty water. Impossible to get a hammock. The rest of the beaches are private or very far away, with an exorbitant cost to get there in addition to waiting more than 1 hour for any transport in impossible heat! To never return again.

Stunning location, can either walk from Capri along the Krupp path - great going down but need to be fit to walk back up. 3-4 bleach clubs. Cheapest is 30 euros for sunbed and 15 euros for umbrella . Average 35 euros per sun bed. Restaurants and snack bars … bring money and a fair bit of it! Small free beach but rocky and pebbles and gets busy. Beach clubs either small pebble beach or into the sea off the small walkways.
Nice watching the big Yatchs and boats and people coming back and forth to go to the restaurants

Beautiful place. I recommend going early because there are a lot of people. If you go to the left of the beach you will find fewer stones. There are some large rocks in the water that are used to sit and sunbathe or jump into the water. We were there almost all afternoon.

Not sure what the hype is about this place. It's just a little Marina with overpriced food and t-shirts. We didn't get up into the hills much or I understand there's some cool Lookout and where all the hobnobs live. We went to the island to see the grottos. Meh
Sorrento was much more entertaining and picturesque. I think you could skip the trip to Capri unless you absolutely have to go. It was the highlight of my trip and I was sorely disappointed
