I say quieter compared to Marina Grande, but it’s still lively and is used by a lot of the smaller island tour boats.
Our boat dropped us off here, and you are best off catching the regular small shuttle buses to Capri Town from the main marina square above the harbour area. You can walk it in about 20 minutes but it is steeply uphill.
I would recommend walking down to Marina Piccola from Capri Town though, but as long as you find the direct pedestrian staircase route from the junction of Via Roma and Via Marina Grande which avoid the long winding road. Google maps can help in this respect.
The Marina is small and compact with two small mainly stone beaches with both public and private sections. Plenty of bars and restaurants to have a beer and food in and yes the prices are higher than on the mainland, but please show me anywhere on Capri where they are not.

I have to start this review by saying I prefer more low key, non touristy places. If you’ve been to Capri then you’ll know this is hard to find as the island is usually packed. We chartered a private boat with 5 other couples so it dropped us at Marina Piccola as opposed to the other side of the island that the cruise ships go to. You can grab a glass of wine and relax on the beach. It has great restaurants and little booths for souvenirs. We did take a cab to the top and only lasted about an hour in the craziness and wayyyyyy overpriced food and drinks. We quickly came back to the marina and enjoyed swimming and a good meal without spending a fortune.

What an amazing experience we had on this tour. Our host Hugo and Gianni (skipper) were fabulous and made our trip that much more enjoyable. My wife and I sat at the front of the boat and with chilled music playing, Capri island in front of us with the most amazing coloured water it was heaven especially when we stopped off for a swim. The island itself is beautiful but with two small beers accompanied by a small tomato mozzarella salad at 51 euro make sure to take some food with you.

We spent a few hours at Marina Piccolo which in comparison to other parts of Capri is rather tranquil there is a section of public beach there which can be rather crowded as well as some private beach clubs.
A few restaurants located here with some fabulous views and some beachside cafes with tables on the public beach a great place to people watch. An enjoyable few hours spent here with a nice leisurely lunch. Before heading back to the bedlam of Capri town.

After having tried all the beaches in the island, this is the best area for swimming. But do not make it so late, as at 4.30 will be in the shade... Not even worth to take the bus. From Capri, you make it there in 20min, and can enjoy the wonderful view while going down.

Not sure what the hype is about this place. It's just a little Marina with overpriced food and t-shirts. We didn't get up into the hills much or I understand there's some cool Lookout and where all the hobnobs live. We went to the island to see the grottos. Meh
Sorrento was much more entertaining and picturesque. I think you could skip the trip to Capri unless you absolutely have to go. It was the highlight of my trip and I was sorely disappointed

Gorgeous trio of small beaches - round pebbles, though people seemed happy to lie out. Accessible via 107 steps from the road (or c.60 from bus stop). Great snorkelling too.

There is one "Marina Piccola" on Sorrento. Ferry boats leave from that location to go to Capri.
Ferries headed for Capri pull into "Marina Grande" only (no ferries to the Marina Piccola on Capri.
On Capri, "Marina Piccola" is on the opposite side of the island from "Marina Grande" and it is here that the recreational boats going to the Faraglioni rock formations, the green grotto, and the Belvedere sights are located.
Our tour boat "Laser Capri" left from this marina. Smaller scale boat rentals are also available here.
Capri is only the size of New York's Central Park.

We were so captivated with the sight of this marina, we totally forgot about all the downhill steps we took to get there. Best way to get there is to pay 1.80 euro/pax for a 10 mins bus ride down to the marina, advisable not to do take the steps like we did, bad for your knees. Our other regrets were not bringing our bathers for a dip, the water was crystal clear.

What a magical place. After our first visit; we cancelled the rest of our plans for the remainder of the week and made a few more destination trips back to Capri through Marina Piccola. There is something for everyone here. It is all a matter of what is your personal style. You are sure to find your pathway to excitement and adventure on the amazing island where everything starts at the Marina Piccola.

Hello I’m going in May 14. I would like to know how is the weather for a beach day and also if restaurants are open for spring season. I also read the sun goes down at noon in this beach is true?

Buon divertimento...Capri e' unica!
