I saw a nice mens jacket in one of the boutiques on this street. It was 2450 Euros. I thought I could buy that jacket, or go on another European holiday. It was a blue one if you want to look out for it.

Capri is charming, a perfect place to walk around and get lost on the streets. Via Camerelle is a charming street that is great for shopping (which I do not like) and pictures. Just the ambiance was relaxing. Stroll along and take your time.

As we were strolling along this area my friend mused that she had never seen so many self important people in one place in her life. I don't mind a little bit of designer shopping but I actually found this area of Capri horrible and depressing in its attitude. If you are the sort of person who enjoys wearing fur, you'll probably really think this is "excellent". OK, that may be a little narrow in judgement. If you enjoy spotting movie stars and like having people look down their noses at you, come here. I won't name the Brit starlet married to a footballer who recently said "I don't feel happy, I just feel successful". That is the sort of people you see here. If you are looking for natural beauty, which Capri is renowned for, head on the walk to Villa Jovis or if you want plenty of restaurant choices that don't make you throw away 100 plus Euro for lunch, head to Anacapri. There are real people there, even locals enjoying their normal life. There is a reasonably nice view of the Faraglioni from near the Hotel Punta Tragara if you follow the pathway along from Via Camerellle to Via Tragara. That's the hotel where Churchill and Eisenhower stayed before it became a hotel but frankly the view of the Faraglioni is far better from the Gardens of Augustus. You don't even need to come down this street to get to the Gardens of Augustus from the arrival point in Capri Piazetta.

For the shopping lovers this will be a delightful experience. You can walk, window shopping, find your favorite brands here. Regardless of outside weather it is a beautiful street to walk and stop for shopping and lunch or snack. I will never leave from there without a pair of flats or sandals handmade in capri, a bottle of limoncello and just a little shopping ;)

There are an extraordinary amount of extremely high-end shops along this romantic and beautiful path at the top of Capri. This is a must see and must walk.

Chic to say the least! Name it, top brands are there. All expensive shops are there, with all those who want to been. It is part of the Capri show and mondaine life. Yet there is a very good vibe in that street and you cannot miss it. People looking good, dressing with good taste, tanned.. well.. part of the Capri dream! Go live it!

No matter where you go in the world there is always a Rodéo Drive Beverly Hills. It is fun to venture and look around. You never what kind a deal you can find. Via Camerelle is very small compared to other cities, but it does have the Capri flare.

Capri town is the bustling metropolis of the Isle of Capri and here is where all the smart shops are plus lots of big hotels and leafy gardens. If you drop down from piazza Umberto where the affordable cafes and bars are, you reach the huge frontage of the Hotel Quisisana that was established in 1812 and still looks like somewhere you should only venture inside its swish café if you have loads of euros to spend before your flight home from Naples the next day. However you should not miss a walk along the Via Camerelle. Turn left at the Quisisana and you pass the front of every posh shop you have ever heard of. It is a pretty street and in fact there is one shop you could afford to enter. It is a second hand clothes shop with an amazing array of lacy clothes with prices starting at 3 euros and few reaching the amazingly low price of 14 euros. Pick up a Gucci plastic bag over the road and buy your loved one a bargain she'll love you for for ever.... or until she spots the receipt you forgot to take out of the bottom of the bag.

Very long and winding walking area that has shops on both sides. It’s all designer and on the expensive side. Interesting.

When I was 12 I came here with my parents and wasn't in slightest bit interested in the shops. Now walking around the shop was a true eye opener. They were all designer, beautifully laid out with some of the weirdest colour designs I have ever seen. The prices are outrageous but then that is to be expected from such an exclusive place. The busiest shop was the ice cream shop. That says it all.

From the Amalfi Coast (Amalfi) do we take a ferry to get to Capri? How long does it take?
Written August 21, 2016
There are fairly regular ferries from Naples (1 hour) and Sorrento (45 minutes) You can also arrange a private taxi boat transfer (much more expensive)
If you visit Capri plan to stay on the island at least for one night. We enjoyed Hotel Flora - central but peaceful.
Do not miss Anacapri - the bus ride is unforgettable!
Also be prepared to walk to get the most from your visit. There is lots to see!
