- Karim MaaroufCairo, Egypt949 contributionsThe main piazza in CapriThis is the main Piazza in Capri and a good place to start your visit. You can get here by taking the funicular from the marina grande. There are some statues and interesting shops around. Also, not far away are the high end shopping area and hotels. You can also take a bus to anacapri from close by.Visited August 2023Traveled with friendsWritten October 21, 2023

We were there on May 6, what we thought was the shoulder season, but there were already wall to wall people. People watch is not a choice. You just have to grin and bear it.Visited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 21, 2024

It's always noisy and crowded here. In the morning and afternoon there are tourists who came to Capri for one day. From the Marina Grande port you can get here by cable car, this is the fastest option. It works from 6.25 to 22.45. The price of a one-way ticket is 2.40 euros in July and August. Or by bus that goes from the port to Capri. There are a number of observation platforms here, from which you can see the red villa where Gorky lived, there are cafes, restaurants, a clock tower and many shops, of all kinds, to suit all tastes and budgets. In the evenings, lights are on here, music is playing, restaurants are open, smart couples are strolling, in general, life is in full swing at any time of the day.

La Piazzetta is home to a number of bars, many restaurants, and a beautiful panoramic viewpoint. This would be considered the main square of Capri with a bus terminal, taxi rank and the underground/overground cable cart station all location within walking distance of here.
The square itself is surrounded by four or five bars which have eye watering prices for average beverages (€22 for a cocktail and €10 for a fraught beer). There are however, many restaurants down side streets from the square that have a more reasonably priced selection!
The panoramic viewpoint here is one of the most beautiful scenes you will see on the island - over looking AnaCapri.

My husband & I were on vacation to Sorrento and took the ferry over to Capri & Anacapri for a day trip.
Once you arrive at the pier down on Marina Grande, buy your tickets to ride the Funicular (tram) (about a 5 minute ride) up to Piazzo Umberto I, which is the main square in the town of Capri.
On the main square you will find the famous Clock Tower plus across from it is the Church of Santa Stefano.
You will also find lots of tables for outside dining, restaurants/gelato, shopping...but it will be crowded I assure you!!
You will mainly find that the views are spectacular from the square of the mountains looking up to Anacapri.
There are buses & taxi stands where you can purchase tickets to go up to Anacapri.
*HINT: take the bus..only a few Euros where a taxi will cost 25 Euros.

This is the heart of Capri and at night it is filled with people eating in cafes. I was not interested in sitting and eating there, but just sat down and people watched, listened to the music playing, and then wandered the streets that leave the Piazza. Just a great place to relax and unwind.

This square is in the centre of Capri town and is where the hoards of tourists piling off the funicular and the busses from other parts of the island head to first when they arrive. Surrounded by bars and restaurants it’s very lively at most times, but probably too lively. And anyway we all know what an Italian tourist square looks like and this is no different to most.
By all means have a look, but then head off towards Chiesa di Santo Stefano and the narrow lanes of whitewashed houses beyond for the real Capri Town.

Likeable square that greets you if you come up via the Funicular. Or walk up. Lots of little roads or alleyways and stairs off to other alleyways or walkways. The usual square with restaurants with people watching seating. Lots of shops; many clothes shops but also local craft style shops and souvenirs places.
Watch out for the little electric vans driving around these areas. The tight roads mean you also need to be careful of the normal cars, taxis and mini buses. For a small island there is a lot of traffic about.
Nice views looking down across the harbour area and rocky mount here too. The bell will start annoying you after a while if you hang around here.

This small square (piazzetta) is located right on the top of the island. You will recognize it immediately, when you go up there by funicular. On the right side is Capri’s beautiful terrace with columns and on the left- la piazzetta, very compact and busy. You will see the clock tower, the church and three cafés. We sat in one of them after a stroll. You can watch people there or just relax with your refreshment in the shadow under the umbrella.

Very nice square where you can hop on the funicular, grab a taxi or wait in line for a bus. The streets leading to and from the square are lined with shops, cafes and restaurants. There are many very expensive designer shops in the area. The square is quite busy. Best to avoid Capri when there are large cruise ships in Naples. Or visit in the evening after the cruise ship passengers head back to the ships.

Disculpa pero no entiendo la pregunta.
Desde Capri se puede ir a distintos lugares, depende de lo que quieras hacer, si es eso lo que me preguntas.
