About
Set midway up a rock face, this cavern is filled with stalactites and stalagmites, where the limestone rock seems to reflect only white rays of light.

We didn’t want to do the Blue Grotto as there was a large queue of boats and you had to get into a smaller one for extra £ - seemed a little too complex when there were so many more points of interest to see.
Just pulling in to see the white grotto was lovely. The water azure blue and the stalactites impressive. What incredible scenery!

We couldn’t visit the blue grotto due to choppy waters but we did stop by to see the White Grotto. Walls were shiny white as it reflected the sunlight but you can see the amazing formations of stalagmites and stalactites. Simply marvelous to see natures handiwork

White Grotto is one of the stops during the boat tour that you take from Capri around the island. Beautiful rock formations (your boatman will point at the spot that resembles a statue of Madonna) and water! Not really so impressive like Green Grotto and the breathtaking like Blue Grotto, but very lovely and worth seeing.

We took a boat cruise around the island and one of the stops is the White Grotto. The cruise operator told us to look out for the Madonna statue high on a rock inside the cave. He backed the boat in so we can take a closer look. But it was kind of dark and you have to stretch your imagation to transform a stalagmite into a statue of the Madonna. It is good for a laugh but it is definitely not something that is a must see. So other than the "Madonna statue", this is just another cave found around the Capri island.

Rent a boat and take your time swimming at this beautiful place! It's not crowded with tourists so one can have nice privacy there!

I was there in June 2013 and I am heading back in July.
A truly magic place, it showcases Italy in a nutshell.
I think I will make the jump this time, 3 in our party did it and said it was AWESOME.
Big deal you are thinking? They were 20, 25ish and I am 56, so I am pumped.

Part of most boat tours, the Grotta Bianca or White Grotto is lovely with the stark white stones and turquoise waters. There are a lot of stalagmites and stalactites in the cave, with a particularly large one that looks like the Virgin Mary.
I believe there is a path to reach within but we didn't get off the boat. Nice spot though!

Bon giorno! We were connected to a private boat owner through La Tosca, where we were staying. I will try to find out his name from La Tosca and get back to you. We especially appreciated using a private boat owner because there were no other passengers on the boat. We went at our own pace. We got to swim and see the Grottas up close. Also, this particular man lives on the island of Capri and is raising a family, so we felt good about contributing directly to the local economy. At the end, he offered us his own homemade "limoncello." It was a three hour tour and worth the extra money. I've been on "cruises" with lots of other people, and I just did not enjoy it as much. I will get back to asap.

Hi abb g,
We reached Capri Island from Sorrento by fast ferry. We took the tour 1.5 to 2 hours around Capri Island by tour company. The company has large boats so and its near shore opposite only restaurant in the ship area. It has bigger boats then other private tour companies advantage is its stable and you don't get drenched with water. I think the cost per person was around 16-20 Euro.
This will take around Capri island and you will not miss anything. Once it reaches Blue grotto, you need to change boat and take small boat which will take 3-4 minutes. It cost 13 Euro. Till all passengers visit blue grotto big boat will wait so not to worry on this count. Enjoy the most memorable trip. You can see my review of Blue grotto. Boat moves clock wise so seat towards shore when it moves.
