Deep blue grotto with a red rim where coral grows at sea level. Visible only by boat - but one of the standard stops on the tour around the north-western part of the island.

The red coral is amazing. Take a boat tour around the whole island to see all of the grottoes. Get real close if you can. Quite pretty.

All the grottos around the coast are special in different ways and the speciality of the red grotto is its lining of red soft coral just under the surface. It's rather nice.

Seen on our boat tour around the island. We got very close in to the grotto and could see the beautiful red coloring just below the water line. Not terribly busy with other boats.

You probably wouldn't just set out to see this one as it's not that special but another interesting and beautiful spot on the grand tour of grottos. Grotti. Grottum?? No idea what the plural of grotto is - I'm sure it's not Grotty...

We hired a couple of small boats with a group of friends and sailed around the island. A great day out and best way to see all the grotto's. With a small boat you can actually go inside the grotto which is great. Also fun...More

We hired a private guide and boat in order to experience all of the grottos without crowds. The red grotto is lovely. The red coral gives it its name. If you are on a small boat, you will be able to get very close to...More
