This was the first grotto that we saw on our boat (then there were white, green and blue ones). There were some waves and so the water was reviling the red part of the rock which lies under the water. Very beautiful color, not to mention the water. Incredible nature!

This is another great grotto to view if you are taking a cruise around the Island of Capri - although the Blue Grotto gets all the attention, this is also pretty special - looks like amethyst crystals all around the grotto.

As with the green grotto Gianni's boats took us for a look. It is really nice to see and not as crowed as the blue grotto

We opted to go to the Red Grotto instead of the Blue Grotto - great decision. We sailed by the Blue Grotto to learn about the history and to see it. The Red Grotto was breathtaking and we were able to hang out and actually swim in the Red Grotto!!!

If you are heading to Capri spend some extra money and tour by a smaller boat the shoreline off of Capri. Most boats will allow you to dive into the Mediterranean and enjoy the grottos. The Red Groot’s is one of 4 that we experienced and the red coral is quite unique to a very few areas. Well worth the visit!

This is not usually the kind of place you hear about or plan to visit. The Red Grotta was one of our stops on the island boat tour around Capri. The guide explained that these purple / red corals are rare and it is forbidden to mine them. There is a police patrol boat around to ensure that.
Be sure to look carefully at the waterline as your captain backs up your boat, these are gorgeous to look at!

there are more hidden coves and half destroyed grottos and full grottos along the limestone cliffs of Mount Tiberio before the Faraglioni Di Matermania of which the coves has the same azure waters like in the Grotta Azzuro but without the crowds and also some cave systems as well, one of those hidden grottos is the rec grotto.
Mount Tiberio has many small hidden coves and elevated caves and grottos and along the northeastern side of Capri.
Mount Tiberio is the other mountain of Capri and it lies along the north east side of Capri. it has an elevation of 335 meters above sea level (1099 feet) and is accessible from the piazzetta via the VIA Tiberio. among the attractions in the mountain include the famous Villa Jovis of Emperior Tiberius, Parco Astarita and the Tiberuis Leap (where the emperor allegedly made his enemies leap down to the jagged rocks in the sea below). You can view Mount Tiberio from the Boat Cruise of Capri.

We did a boat tour around Capri and there are several caves they take you into. The Red Grotta is one of them. You pull in and the water is sparkling blue and along the sides of the cave you can see the red coral forming. Pretty cool. You are in and out very quickly as there are several boats waiting to also go in. It was fun.
