You are surrounded by small gardens here and we had a gelato and sat on a bench overlooking the view. It also had a nice looking restaurant which looked popular overlooking the view.Visited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 26, 2023
- Jane PPalm Beach, Florida188 contributionsBeautiful park & vistaThis is a beautiful park on top of the cliff in the center of Sorrento. There is a gorgeous view of the bay of Naples and the beach clubs below; many people taking photos. The Chiostro is right there. We saw two wedding parties walk by. There are benches and bars and restaurants to relax and enjoy the scenery. Sorrento is a gem.Visited October 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten October 26, 2023

It’s located in the town center and you get views of the Gulf of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. Also the perfect spot to watch the sunset. There’s access to get down to the beach area, which isn’t bad on the way down but it’s a trek back up - although there is a paid elevator you can take back up. Dont miss it!Visited April 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 13, 2024

Pretty much same view available at Grande Excelsior Vittoria but completely free of charge. Nice to sit on one of the benches and look at the view. Free of charge and clean lavatories available . Inexpensive cafe and gelato on site

A very popular viewpoint not far from the town centre. There's lots of monuments and sculptures dotted around and it looked like a bit of a trek to climb down to the water, so we didn't bother.

🌲This park is on a hilltop next to The Cloisters of St. Francesco and near to Tramontana Hotel. It’s a small area with a few benches. The views from here are stunning.....and it’s a perfect spot for great photos. It’s very popular with wedding parties.📷
🌟In this little park you will find THE LIFT/ELEVATOR down to the Marina Piccola. It’s in the corner of the garden and costs €1 single trip. There are also steps leading to the marina and bathing platforms. We usually walk down and return on the lift.
🌞It’s a great place as it’s quiet and relaxing and, if you’re lucky, you’ll get a seat in the shade. There’s also a small restaurant with toilet fascilities. 🍻🍷🍨

A short walk from the main square in Sorrento, this is one of those places that has an excellent view of the Bay of Naples, Sorrento Coastline and the marina below, with the jetties that spring out from the land, packed full of sun loungers.
There is a lift here (€1pp) that'll take you down to the bathing platforms and marina, to save your legs (it's ok walking down. Back up is worth the €1!)
A must see when visiting Sorrento

🌺The Villa Comunale is a very popular garden in Sorrento. Set near The Cloisters and next to Tramontana Hotel, it boasts the most spectacular views of the lovely coast, Vesuvius and Capri.
🛳 From here you can walk down steps to Marina Piccola from where the boats and ferries set sail to Capri, Ischia, Positano and Naples (to name but a few places) . In the corner of the garden is THE LIFT to Marina Piccola.🛳🛳🛳
🌴🌴You can sit in a shaded area or enjoy a lunch or drink in a little cafe. Lots of people come to take photographs and you will often see bridal parties.🎆💕
⭐️From here you can get to Marina Piccola (⛴) but not Marina Grande (🎏)

I've always known this place as the look out, and that's the best thing to do. It's a wonderful view of the bay and vesuvio and is the perfect place for a photo of sorrento if you're pressed for time. Some shade and benches, plus lift down to the only public beach in town. Just next to the oap sun deck. Lift costs a euro last time I used it, but it's more fun walking up and down in your flip flops.

This delightful park, filled with beautiful flowers and an exceptional view of the Bay of Naples, turned out to be a lifesaver for our group.
Two of our party of four have mobility problems. We needed a reasonable means to get down to the port in order to take the hydrofoil to Capri.
Problem solved!
This park includes two large elevators which takes you down to the port area at a price of 1 euro per person.
The park is located about a five minute walk from the Piazza San't Antonino in the city center. Walk out of the piazza and bear to your left as the street curves around and the park will be on your right.
It also works its magic on the return trip for another euro. Those ramps coming back up the hill are daunting.

Sorrento's largest park proved to be the first place I visited on a short day trip to the town. That's because the elevator that I took as a shortcut from the harbor, where I got off a hydrofoil, to the top of a massive cliff, opened into Villa Comunale. What a splendid welcome to Sorrento! Colorful flowerbeds, tall trees, beckoning benches, singing birds and amazing views from the park's terrace greeted me. Many visitors had gathered at the terrace railing to admire the panorama, and I immediately joined them.
The harbor, a glistening sea, ferries, a hydrofoil and a cruise ship appeared below. In the distance I could see the island of Capri, Vesuvius and the Naples coastline. It took awhile before I could tear myself away from the scene. But I finally wended my way through the immaculate gardens to the entrance, Just beyond, I made my next stop at the Church of San Francesco and was off to a good start for a few hours of sightseeing.
The park provides a nice place for a respite as well as offering the best view I saw in Sorrento. Steps lead down from here to Marina Piccola, the main harbor.
