PROVINCIAL PICTURE GALLERY – UNEXPECTED DELIGHT
May 2018 • Couples
This is a small museum, located in the old Palazzo Pinto building, meant for local exhibits. In addition to paintings, they have mostly books, maps and prints on display – which are invariably in Italian and of limited interest to tourists.

At the time of our visit, we found that an informal concert was being presented by local schoolchildren. The audience seemed to consist of parents and teachers, but we were allowed to attend – there were a few violin and piano recitals, followed by a little orchestra music. Quite a delight!

Lovely palazzo - cool and peaceful inside
May 2018 • Solo
Directly opposite the Museo Virtuale . This small museum is free to enter and well worth a short visit if only to admire the interior.
Some lovely landscape paintings of the Amalfi coast and there is a sculpture exhibition due to finish on the 3rd June.
Closed Mondays and open from 9am to 7.45pm.

A small galery in an interesting palazzo.
Feb 2017 • Couples
The gallery is on the first floor of the Palazzo Pinto. The Pinto family have quite a history in the town, and in a small room one can see the pictures of some.
The main gallery is interesting with works by mainly local artists.

Quirky art museum
Oct 2015 • Couples
This small, free museum was right across the street from our hotel so we thought we'd stop in. One absolutely killer 15th c. altarpiece, but the rest of the paintings are either third-rate local Caravaggio rip-offs or unskilled regional work. Still, I like going to these local museums and the history of the building (it was a private palazzo) is interesting as well.

Fabulous and diverse collection, mainly local artists. Really worth seeing. A large collection. Can't believe it was free! There wasn't even anywhere to leave a donation.

Interesting small art museum
It was interesting how they displayed paintings from the Salerno and Amalfi Coast area with current modern art work. The modern items may have been a special exhibit when we visited. The museum is housed in the Pinto Villa - which was interesting also. They also displayed some of the Pinto family portraits.
