it's a good walk

A slow walk around the small streets is a nice thing to do, the city center is small so if you feel like going for more you just can head to the promenade and enjoy the sunset.

The Centro storrico area of Salerno is very much a part of its charm. Cobbled streets, cool narrow alleys, opening out into squares rich in history , functional fountains - some dripping in moss- still providing drinkable water to all who want it. Photo opportunities abound. Love it, love it, love it.....just remember to wear walking shoes and share the... More

This year in Salerno I discovered some areas of the old Centro Storico that have beer through a revival. I was surprised to go through areas that once were off limits or that you did not dare go though because of crime and bad reputation. The area has changed, and to my surprise, is now full of life, regenerated and... More

The Centro Storico is very picturesque with narrow alleys, small restaurantes just around the corner from the bright Streets. Take your time and have a nice stroll!

At the end of a month-long trip in Southern Italy, I didn't expect much from the centro storico of Salerno. Boy, was I wrong! The old historic center of Salerno is really beautiful, right on the sea, with narrow lanes, a beautiful lungomare, restaurants & shops, churches & museums, in a pedestrian only zone. It's a great place to stroll... More

Definitely worth a tour! A place with various gift shops, restaurants, ice cream shops, many more, not to mention the cathedral. After a walk through the old streets continue to boulevard!

It was interesting to walk around and the sea promenade is pretty, but I wonder if Naples wouldn't be more interesting. A nice Italian city.

Great space to stay with a great look out over the street below. The location was wonderful and very easy to access some good places around it. The space itself was also wonderful!

It would take several pages to describe all the places worth seeing in the old part of town. There are several beautiful churches, some of which have been restored with loving care. My advice is not to limit yourself to the main street, Via dei Mercanti , but to wander up the little alleys, where you will find, right behind... More

A lot of hidden corners worth the visit. Salerno is an amazing city which is not very well know as Naples. But it does offer a lot. Good accommodation, very close to the Amalfi Coast.
