I tried to attend at 720 pm, but the lady said it closed in 10 minutes, even though everywhere it said it closed at 8. She would not let me go. Waste of time.

I expected so much more from this place concerning the history of shipbuilding in Amalfi. You can see where they did the work. Fine. There is a small model. OK. Some drawings and photographs, and unrelated art work on the walls. It was reasonably cool,...More

The Arsenale della Repubblica was a cool refuge from the busy streets of Amalfi. It has a very interesting exhibit on the history of Amalfi and compasses. The descriptions are in Italian and English. My only criticism is that the English descriptions are printed in...More

I did NOT want to go to this, but the husband insisted...I was SO glad we went. It's really well done. It was 35 Euros each and well worth it.

The old shipyard, now quite far from the sea, hidden between souvenir-shops and bars, it's not easy to find but definitely worth a visit! they used to perform the "Amalfi Musical" there. Awesome location and great historical exibition.

As I understand it, this was the old arsenal for the Republic of Amalfi. It is now a museum, but my wife and I saw a wonderful play here.

The space is amazing - very clean and new but in an ancient, large space probably used as storage from cargo ships. Nice displays in English as well as Italian but sparse as far as items. Nice Warhal pics of Marilyn Monroe.
