The church is one of the iconic landmarks of Cosenza and it’s situated in the old part of the city. The building blends very well with the surrounding area, the old town, an example on how towns were setup along the Mediterranean coast in the...More

The church fits right into the unique neighborhood. Walk up to the cathedral past the river, up the cobbled streets, on the side of the hill.

This cathedral is one of many. The inside opens to many basilicas that host a number of sacraments. The stained glass and organ are huge and beautiful. The preservation of historic and religious relics are beyond description.

Was shocked to find that the gorgeous duomo has been stripped of some of its history. New lights have been installed and who knows what else ripped out. Have seen this happening throughout southern Italy. Terrible shame! Vergogna!!!

It is a pity that despite being a UNESCO Heritage site this area looks so neglected. This Duomo [cathedral] would have been the central focus in old Cosenza centuries ago for people residing in the adjoining narrow Medieval streets. Please care for your heritage!
