This is a very interesting museum tucked away near the Palazzo Viceconte Hotel. It a good place to start a trip to Matera providing an insight into the history, renovation and culture of the town. Highly recommended.

A must visit to understand the history of Matera and its sassi. I am not usually into watching an ‘informative’ film but this was just great with profound insight into the evolution of the city and in particular the inhabitants of the sassi. Shocking to be sure but so much insight conveyed as well.…

Book online at casanoha.it before you come because they are allowing in small groups due to COVID. Also, you will be required to wear a mask the whole time. This was a 30 minute experience split across three rooms and four videos. You go into one room and watch a short video and then you move into the next room. The rooms are kept at a cooler temperature than outside so it's a nice way to cool down. Each room has benches for you to sit on. …

This was an eye-opener for me. I was vaguely aware when we came to Matera that it's history was complex and that there had been times of success as well as decay, but I was not aware of the details. The film's in Casa Noha really explained a lot to me and I would recommend it to anyone who visits.…

I recommend this place 5 stars. If you want to learn the history behind the beautiful city of Matera, then this is a must see. Available in English speaking headphones. It takes you back to the first page of Materas history. This place made me fall in love with the city. note: very interesting video, to be seen before visiting the stones…
