Not impressed, except for the fact that it opens to the beach. Right in front of it there is one of the free beaches of Pescara, which I wouldn't recommend unless you are absolutely unable to secure a decent set of 'lettini e ombrelone' on one of the organized beaches. We tried hard to make head and tail of the sculpture in the middle, but not much luck. The locals seem to use this square as a meeting/orientation point: thins are on the right/left of Piazza Salotto.

"Aperi-cena" means cocktails with local tastings. On this piazza there are a few bars that offer this. Too bad Bar Camplone no longer exists as the gelato (mangia e bevi) was famous for years!

The rundown of my hometown Piazza.

Refurbishing " Piazza Salotto" has resulted among the most mediocre jobs of the year it was done. The once welcoming square where in the late 60's up until years ago people would meet up , gather , chat , play , run , mingle , eat , has now become an inhospitable grey stone land . a square where during hot summers is impossible to even walk by and in winter is to grey to be wanting to be.
the square that should have become famous for the best buy the city could make , the 1 milion eur sculpture of a Japanese artist which collapsed after only a few month being installed.

Piazza Salotto lost all is charme eventhough it had nevre seen any splendor

I love the paving of the square, the design and the different marbles. There is nothing much to see apart from a sculpture depicting a wine glass, which was damaged in 2009 and has never been repaired. You cannot see it because it is covered

Cold, foul and sad... a few ideas of moderation did not go well and a poor result for those who want to make this square the reference point

They built a series of more or less modern and square buildings, left a huge space in the middle and called it a square. Not good.
