- TriviusMontesilvano, Italy739 contributionsDefinitely worth seeingNot only to see, but if you have time to cross either on foot or by bicycle, it has an excellent reserved lane. Very beautiful, it connects the north and south seafront and below there are private overflows. However, it is pleasant to walk aroundVisited May 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten May 22, 2024
- Ludivine Gain-BertPoitiers, France332 contributionsAmazing but on top!!!From a distance, we were not hit but on it, we see the construction in two parts that move away with an asymmetric mast! Beautiful construction with incredible views of the huge beach, harbour and tiles! One of the best views of my life in the setting sun, recommended!Visited July 2024Traveled with familyWritten July 31, 2024
- Giovanni2772150 contributionsOriginalThe new "symbol" of Pescara. Recent structure of architectural importance. It is one of the longest pedestrian cycle bridges in Europe. It connects the two "Pescara"; you can admire the beautiful canal port with boats on the sides, a sea view and if the weather allows it the Gran Sasso Massif. I liked it.Visited September 2024Traveled soloWritten October 1, 2024

The "Sea Bridge" is first and foremost beautiful to look at! It is a futuristic construction with a curvilinear layout supported by a single inclined pylon and a series of tie rods that give the entire structure a sense of lightness and elegance. It connects the two coasts of Pescara. It is a cycle-pedestrian bridge, whose ramps, those for pedestrians and those for bicycles, are well separated. We walked it at night, you have the sensation of being "suspended" in this flexible steel structure.
Good experience!

This modern bridge is a great example of what can be achieved with creativity. Being car-free, it allows for great sightseeing on the sea and on the town. This is a very nice walk, even for just the pleasure of walking on this bridge and experiencing its unusual architecture.
The north side of the bridge is also enjoyable, with beaches and bars. Unfortunately, the immediate south side of the bridge is less enjoyable, being boarded by a road and empty areas.

I went there during my stay in Pescara. I utterly managed to see the sea. It was mostly the entrance of the Arbour. Furthermore, during this covid time, almost no one was wearing a mask or keeping the distance. The colors and the view of the city was nice tough.

Built just recently - it has been opened only in 2009 -, this bridge has become rapidly a very popular Pescara's landmark among visitors and locals alike, since it affords some spectacular views of the seafront, of the city and of the mountains clearly visible far away facing towards the inland region.
The bridge is located in the centre of Pescara and easily reachable, linking two promenades on the south and north of the namesake Pescara river, so in the summer season there's a lot of people transiting from one side to the other, especially at night.
While the north promenade has been the more lively - besides is more conveniently placed in a more central area near the busy shopping precinct -, in the southern area are located some places of interest such as harbour Marina di Pescara - that hosts concerts, fairs and other events - the outdoor theatre teatro D'Annunzio - during the summer hosting the renowned Pescara jazz and other concerts and stage shows - and the d'Avalos, pinewood - most probably the biggest park in the Pescara's municipality -, so this bridge comes very handyfor those without a vehicle.
Besides, the southern seafront area has been going for some years through a process of requalification - that is going to take some years as there is still some dispute as for some of the formely industrial areas' end use -, and the promanade itself has been newly rebuilt with plenty of space for pedestrians and cyclists and plenty of green areas, so this bridge is probably going to be strategical for the future development of the town.
Utlimately, other than that, regardless of whether one needs to rech the other bank or not, I reckon this bridge is well worth a look for visitors, since it's a beautiful architectural and engineering work and is a good spot to take pictures.

Fun walk on this quirky bridge with a view on the sea. A bit further you find fishermen villages on the coast, which is relaxing.

Fantastic views of the port, beaches and the river while enjoying a walk from one side of Pescara to the other - NOT TO BE MISSED.
Once you get to the south side, there is not much to see as the old houses on that side are in disrepair and apart from a gas pump there is nothing else there. However, if you keep walking for about 300-400 metres, you will get to the marina where a few yachts and boats are harboured. There are a couple of bars and restaurants which also serve good fish.
MY SUGGESTION: either you walk or cycle to the south side and then just walk back to your starting point - don't waste your time on the south side hoping to find something interesting to see!

I am a professional photographer who has seen dozens of night photos of this bridge. I visited at 8:00 am in the morning and found many people jogging and walking across it for exercise. The lighting at this time was beautiful with the sunrise over the Adriatic sea.
