The palatial Ayuntamiento (Town Hall) of Valencia dominates the square, and its bells chime out the hours. Surrounding the plaza are other buildings from the city's golden age, such as the Correos (the main post office). In the center of the plaza, a fountain is surrounded by flower stalls with all the colors, sizes, varieties imagineable. This is a good starting point from which to visit Valencia's old quarter or today's most fashionable shops.

This Plaza is a seminal part of Valencia's culture. It is a huge square full of cafes, restaurants and shops. Wonderful occasion to admire superb architecture, facades, taste local cuisine or shopping.

Beautiful square with magnificent buildings like the Town Hall, Central Post Office, Generalli and others, with a fountain, trees and flowers sellers. Good idea start the visit to the city center from Plaza del Ayuntamiento, but first of all take a table in one of the many bars and cafés, have something to drink or eat, relax and enjoy the... This large rectangular main square dates from the 15th C. and is situated on the south side of the historical center of Valencia. It looks fairly modern as most of the changes have taken place after the convent was demolished in 1891. The simple but sparkling fountain in the center was installed in 1962 and is surrounded by a small... More

One of the pleasant places to visit in Valencia. Beautiful view with great architecture. You can find such places all over Valencia. Love it!

Wonderful architecture all around this square and a great landmark for visitors. Actually a start-point. You can pick up buses all around the square and xativa metro (underground) is a few minutes walking. It is very touristic but charming. The central post office is a spot to must see.

Yes there is more than one superbly beautiful "centre" of Valencia despite its compact size. Ayuntament is a fantastic place surrounded by beautiful buildings - a photographers dream.

This plaza is the most touristy place in Valencia. Actual meeting point for you and your family or friends. I'd recommend spending 10 minutes to take a snap of the facade of the Central Post Office, and then get out as fast as you can, this square is well known for pick-pocketing
