In the heart of Valencia, the old town with its narrow streets, the majestic cathedral and large churches and its many restaurants is very beautiful and suitable for walking. Unfortunately, the square in front of the cathedral is currently being reconstructed and traffic there is very difficult.

The heart of the old town
Apr 2020
This part of the city really is beautiful - the heart of the medieval old town and close to the Cathedral and all the main tourist sites. The architecture and the atmosphere are extraordinary - and always busy and bustling, except perhaps in Covid (I visited long before this). You can really get a feel for the city here by walking around and exploring all the narrow little streets. The area also boasts some of the city's finest restaurants for both in and outdoors dining - I had a lovely Spanish style ham, egg and chips in a restaurant by the Cathedral. There are plenty of places too for trying the famous Aqua da Valencia, which packs quite a punch.

Great walk
Dec 2019
We walked from the hotel to the city centre. All the old buildings are well maintained, lots of restaurants and cafes. Valencia City Hall and piazza are great.

Simply gorgeous!

The old city of Valencia is a treat for architecture lovers. The abundance, beauty and diversity of the buildings is extraordinary. The area is small enough that you can enjoy it on a leisurely morning or afternoon. Stop by a cafe at a square and enjoy a sip of agua de Valencia.

So easy to wander and get lost in the lanes.
Feb 2020
Valencia is a city of contrasts. On one side you have the ultra modern architecture in the Science city but the old quarter takes you to a medieval setting. just wander around the Cathedral.

Improving
Dec 2019
Time ago the city center of the city was awful, but lately and nowadays is becoming more interesting because of the restoration of old buildings and the great number of nice restaurants that are opening. The food and some interesting historical places make Valencia a good city to spend a couple of days.

Historic buildings and streets made for a leisurely stroll
Sep 2019
As the name implies, this is the old part of Valencia. There are many historic buildings to view as you walk leisurely down narrow streets. There are plenty of cafes as well. The Torres de Serrano, a beautiful entrance gate to the old city built in the late 1300's is nearby, and well worth seeing. There are several attractive churches and squares in the old city, and hence the old city is a must see site.

AMAZING ARCHITECTURE

A wonderful city to wander and enjoy the amazing architecture every building seems to offer. But keep looking up to enjoy and have your camera ready.

Lovely old town
Oct 2019
The old town is atmospheric - especially at night - with loads of eating, drinking and shopping options and lots to see and do. A great place to base yourself.
