Interesting architectures, old shops including some antique shops, obviously a lived in area, plenty of bars and restaurants, some old marble pavements still exist. Regular guided tours by several organisations plus sedgeways and bicycles.

Valencia has the biggest historical centre in Europe. You can see jew, muslim, middle age, romantic, victorian, modern and barroc architecture within the centre districts of the city.

we were very impressed by how clean and well preserved this old part of Valencia is. It is enjoyable just to have a leisurely stroll around and soak up the pleasant atmosphere

We spent hours just relaxing in this lovely area of Valencia. Our accommodation by the Cathedral for 4 nights lent itself to much browsing and relaxation

This part of town originates from the Roman time in 138 BC and is the area where the Christian wall was extended following the conquest of the Moors in 1238. The Serrano (1398) & Quart (1460) tower gates are the only remnants of the wall that survived the demolition in 1865 and is now bound by the tram route. It's... More

Not really a destination, more an area to be aware of while walking through it possibly from the cathedral to the main square or the market. Lots of history and some excellent little bars.

For a great stroll go to the casco antiguo. A bit touristic but not over the top. Nice shops, streets, bars and restaurants

Valencia is an elegant city, with marvellous buildings. It has a French feel, with some amazing street art. What I noticed was the trees, which seem to be on every street, giving the city freshness and charm. It's not a really large city and the cathedral area gets quite crowded, but the narrow streets of the old town are marvellous... More

I do not often think of this first of all, but the old part of Valencia seems quite safe. It struck me as a pleasing mix of locals and tourists walking around, not too many, not too few. The parts that were empty, weren't empty long, Nothing was eerie or threatening, nor was any part crowded. It made a lovely,... More
