The plaza is a bright, open large square just behind the cathedral when you could stop and take in the surroundings while enjoying a glass of Alberino.

When walking trough Valencia you just cannot miss it. Take some pictures (selfies) of the fountain with the basilica and cathedral on the background.

It is sunny, bustling, offers view on pretty churches, oranges in a tiny park and a great place to people watch: loads of tourists, groups of stag/hen parties, as well as locals walking their dogs or busy on their way to their chores.

This central plaza in the old city is always busy with impromptu or spontaneous events - kids dancing, saxophonists playing, peddlers peddling, tenors singing - and loads of people standing around, sitting around, sunning themselves, or having coffee or ice cream in the surrounding cafes....More

Plaza de la Virgen plays host to several cafes and outdoor terraces that serve traditional Valencian cuisines. This is a perfect spot for eating, drinking, and watching life go by. Don't forget to enjoy the Turia Fountain.
