A green space is provided by the pleasant Jardines de la Generalitat that abuts the great Palau de la Generalitat Valenciana. Just one of the grand attractions here.

We were delighted to be present for the Thursday noon Tribunal de las Aguas and see the officials walk from their headquarters across the Plaza to the Cathedral doorway to pronounce their adjudications.

A magnificent Cathedral and the equally impressive Basílica de la Mare de Déu dels Desemparats form a mainstay of the Plaza.

Turia Fountain is elaborate and features Neptune reclining while below an array of figures distribute water from amphorae.

El Micalet is just one of the eateries around and we enjoyed refreshment there while relaxing in the afternoon sunshine.

Plaça de la Mare de Déu, also known as Plaza de la Virgen is one of the most beautiful and emblematic squares in Valencia. It’s located in the very heart of the city in a strategic location where the Roman Forum once stood.
Great fountain and really nice atmosphere there.

This is one of the most beautiful squares in Valencia, boasting many churches and monuments in the heart of the old city. On a sunny day, kick back and enjoy a drink and tapas at one of their many cafes. Delightful!

Plaza de la Virgen is a very beautiful, expansice and very lively square, always full with people. It is surrounded by some historic building and the magnificent Valencia Cathedral and it is a great place to sit, relax and enjoy people watching.
The restaurant and cafes in the square seemed a bit touristic to me, so I didn't eat in any of them, but they are great for a coffee or a drink.

Valencia is amazing. Enjoyable and walkable. We visited the City of Science, the Cathedral and La albufera, a natural lake close to the city and finally the best paella of the world in Restaurante El Perellonet (Av Las gaviotas 19).

Nice square in the ehart of the city. Can get very busy with tourists and locals. When we where there, there was a big wedding going on with fireworks. Be advised the Plaza de la Reina is closed due to massive restructuring, so enter from the Turia side at theCarrer de Sant Salvador.

We stopped in the plaza on the way to find food. There's a great atmosphere and various entertainers performing. I would say that the locals know this as drink prices are quite high. But we'll worth a visit. It has a great water fountain to.

The Plaza De La Virgin is so lively and full of people. It's insanely beautiful and for that reason the perfect place to stop for a drink. Usually I find myself driven away from having a drink in places like this, they can be overpriced and busy, but this plaza is just different, its the perfect place for people watching.

This is a fabulous area for a stroll but particularly at night , say, after a nice meal.
It is beautifully lit and has lovely old buildings including the side of the cathedral and the basilica.
No shops, neon, or traffic.
Just go!
