Nice expositions, an interesting museum to visit for only 2 euros. If you like modern art, don't forget to visit!

This is a large spacious building but sadly the standard of the exhibits was disappointing. The cafe was closed and there are no local amenities in the area. There is a lack of signage in English which made it harder for the non-Spanish speaker to engage with content on display. I would recommend checking what is actually on display before... More

This is one of the most important modern art museum in Spain. Notable collection of sculptures of Julio González (1876-1942). There are 11 322 works from various artists from different countries. The building is not so attractive but the collection is fine and there are also contemporary exhibitions. Cheap ticket, 2 euros.

The whole concept is great. Everybody could find some interesting art for himself. From modern statues, to the old paintings, multimedia presentations, everything in one place. Amazing!

We had an excellent visit here. Entry price is very reasonable, 2 Euros for adults, 1 Euro for children/students. We visited the Julio Gonzales sculpture exhibition which is wonderfully laid out, and we also spent time looking at a special exhibition focusing on being lost in cities. Loads of interesting and varied artwork - really well curated. Thoroughly recommended.

A very impressive museum with a heavy emphasis on photography in the current exhibition. I'm a photography fan so I was very happy to spend a couple of hours here. A terrific sculpture exhibition of work by Julio Gonzalez 1876 - 1942. A friend of Picasso born in Barcelona. Great for me to discover such an impressive new artist.

The exhibition at the time by Julio Gonzales was interesting with small figures - all different leading up the steps to another room which was filled with tiny people shapes - fascinating! Another exhibition of photography/ 1960s art was interesting. well worth the visit at just 4 euros and the cafe on the entrance floor is a welcome sight!

I never experienced this kind of art before, but I found it really interesting and would suggest to check it out if you a few spare hours. The price (€2/€1 for students) is reasonable. Don't expect too much, but you might find some really interesting piece of art.

I went to the IVAM because they had a exhibition on photography in the US in the 1930's. This exibition was great, so was the one on the ground floor. The museum itself could do with better directions inside the building, it was not very clear to me which exhibitions were where and which were temporary. The museum if free... More

Of course a gallery that hosts temporary exhibitions is only as good as what is on display at the time you visit, but this is a large gallery so there is almost bound to be something to please. It is worth a trip just for the permanent exhibition of Julio Gonzalez' work - I had seen his later sculptures before... More
