Small but perfectly formed
Apr 2020
The gardens were closed for the first few days of my visit due to high winds, so as soon as they reopened I made a point of visiiting. The gardens are not that big but there is plenty to see - ferns, trees and water features together with an array of adorable cats - they are not there to be stroked and made a fuss of however tempting this may be, and should be left to do their own thing as they are fed and cared for reguarly. There is a huge array of diversity for such a small place with plenty of places to sit and relax as well. Perfect for a warm spring day.

A little place of heaven

A very peaceful place in the beautiful and lovely Botanic Area just outside the old city centre. Friendly service and affordable.

Magic place

Two of my favourite things are desert plants and cats. This place has both!! Spend a whole day there, bring a book and a camera and just enjoy - wonderful!!

Refreshing moment!

Went there at the end of June ... weather was hot but it was really fine in the Botanical Gardens. Really impressed by the large diversity of the plants, especcially in the cactus area. Really enjoyed it.

Beautiful setting, peaceful stroll
Dec 2019
My friend and I spent a lovely hour or so, sipping coffee and exploring the Botanical Gardens. For a very cheap entrance fee of 2.50euro we enjoyed a range of flowers and plants in December sunshine. There are 4500 different species to see so the garden has a great range of flora.
A perfect way to to spend the morning - away from the hustle and bustle of the main city centre.

A peaceful stroll
Oct 2019
This is not the best or biggest garden in the world and as we visited in October there was little in the way of flowers. The trees and plants were interesting and the orchid house is pretty - a peaceful stroll away from the noise and bustle of the city

Be at peace

Such a peaceful place, well worth the €2.50 entrance fee. So many specimens of plants and some information on local botanists. Lots of benches around the gardens and a seating area for food (vending machine only but I brought my own pastries). Toilets are clean also. Several cats strolling about!

Lovely place for peaceful break from city
Oct 2019 • Couples
Disappointing brick frontage but lovely natural world within. Good value for €2.50 each. Interesting trees and plants from across the world, a cacti area and a shade house. Came across a group of game ladies (and couple of "boys") doing gentle exercises. Go girls! Clean toilets and tucked behind there is a small seating area with vending machine. Only negative overlooked on two sides by unsightly flats.

Not the best..not the worst.
Jul 2019
We did not expect the entrance to be more like an office building so after walking past it once and stumbling upon tent city in the adjoining park we eventually entered a world of many trees and plants in desperate need of water and better care..one young girl going around with a hose was not enough..the new little square with its fish pond and new greenhouses was lovely.Worth the visit but do not compare with others on a grander scale.
