The seafront is nice but avoid the restaurants. You will get ripped off and the food isn't that great. You are better going a couple of streets back where you will get really nice food and a reasonable price.
I live here so know Torrevieja very well.

Like most beaches in Torrevieja area near town this beach is not very wide so can get very busy. It is clean though & easy to reach from the main part of town. It is disabled access friendly. Just a sandy beach with the main esplanade behind it not really for thinking of having ball games on as it is simply not big enough but because of its' location is convenient for facilities & eating/drinking places.

Spent a couple of days enjoying the bars and restaurants along the front. It's a nice pedestrianised area with plenty of places to eat and drink.
There's lots of shops and market stalls back up towards the centre of Torreveija.
Biggest problem is the "lookie lookie" men as we know them. They have frequented this area for as long as I can remember. We've been coming here since I was in my teens and in 49 now. Most of the time they go after a polite no but they seemed a bit more insistent this time. Worse than that though was the more sinister development of them drug dealing!!
I was quite shocked but not too surprised when an Eastern European guy offered us some "Charlie" (Coke) if you're not sure and not the kind you mix with your whiskey! We of course told him to clear off. But that was the first of many propositions we received in the two days we were there. Many of the African fake goods sellers offered us Coke, Skunk (a very strong type of cannabis) and pills.
I am aware of these drugs as I served 20 years in the prison service. Many times the smell of burning Cannabis was overwhelming when we sat quietly drinking our beers.
It spoiled it for me to be honest. I wonder how many of the holiday makers are aware of what's going on around them? Also why the police are not more visible than the one or two times we saw them patrol. Of course there was no illegal hawkers to be seem when they turned up!
Give this careful consideration when you decide to use this area!

This coast area is near the centre of Torrevieja town, easy walk to any area, near lots of accommodation for holidays and lovely walks to make, and restaurants to relax in on the sea front promenade.. Lots of market stalls to browse through near by along the promenade too.

A lovely walk along the sea front where there are a few shops and lots of different cafes where you can eat and take a drink. There are lots of seats so no problem if you get tired. I love to sit and people watch, a lovely relaxing place to be.

Rocky beach at one end made a change from just sand. Met lots of people holiday makers, expat , and locals who were all very friendly.
Stayed in an apartment near an expat community and it was lovely. Didn't want to come home.

For me, this is the nicest beach in the area. No traffic, lots of places to eat and drink, and fairly sheltered. Even last week there were quite a few people sunbathing. If you go, have the menu del dia at the Sirocco at the southern end of the promenade. It's great value at €12.50...

Nice relaxing place. Very clean too. Choice of restaurants and has a spar for convenience.
Beaches are wonderful, lots of rental apartments around too.
Would recommend for quiet holidays. Didn't see many noisy kids either which is a bonus.
Only issue. Might sound strange but every 45 mins or so a really really noisy blue bus passes. During the day this is fine but at night I woke up several times thinking a Boeing 747 was about to crash into my window!!! (Window open due to no air con). I'm sure they have powerful engines due to the steep hills but the noise is unreal.... they must have received complaints.... (I'm not exaggerating about the noise btw)
Other than that its a lovely place to stay!

A nice beach which seems fairly safe for kids as it’s not too large. Loads of shops and restaurants running behind it. Beach easily accessible. Very busy and lively, full of Spanish holiday makers. It’s not the prettiest beach, but has a nice atmosphere and is worth walking along to if your staying within the local area.

We especially enjoyed the smaller sandy spots along the promenade but this big city beach is ok also. More services here than on the smaller spots. The promenade is quite lovely and lots of cafes and restaurants near the beach areas. Also people selling stuff and people trying to catch you inside their bar or restaurant but can quite easily ignore them. Beaches and promenade are kept clean and the sand is soft and hot under your toes.

Bonjour,
Merci

Hi, yes there are plenty of bars and restaurants along the strip! Definitely worth a visit, unfortunately I don't know about the distance in terms of walking as we traveled by car from where we were staying in a different direction.

December temp. Average is 12c with highs around 17c although you should get a few days over20c and lows around 7c.
Expect approx 35mm of rain often heavy and persistent.
Most markets and restaurants and bars on the Torrevieja promenade are open in December although some may close by 11pm on Xmas day.
Hope this helps !
