Clean, sandy/rocky beach, popular with tourists and residents alike. Lifeguards are in attendance during the day. The sun beats on the east facing beach all day and it is only late in the day when shadows appear. Those not too keen on baking in the sun turn up later and watch the boats and planes and the stragglers. The beach is topless so do not get shocked, few take up the option!

For the past few years we have been going to Costa del sol for January. This year we decided to go to Torrevieja for a change. We rented an two bedded apartment in Los Locos, facing the sea, wonderful. The disappointment for us was the lack of clubs and sunbeds on the beach, which is one of our favourite pastimes on holidays. We are pensioners and I am slightly disabled.
However there are lots of restaurants on the sea front and in the port which is walking distance from Los Locos.
There is another gem I found, a brilliant Hairdresser! Most important, especially as I wanted a complete change. The name is Adele, and the owner is Adele. It is situated on Avda de las Habaneros. Wish I could take them home with me because I got what I wanted - and more!!

Just north of Torre this is where the locals hang out. Not for young people as the 'Oldies' walk the beach from end to end on a continual stream.
Then they make their way to lunch at one of the local restaurants or eat and drink out of their cool boxes.
Great people for people watching.

I really do not understand what some people want. If you gave them a £20 note they would complain it wasn't four fivers! This is a lovely beach where you can relax, swim and go and have something to eat nearby. There are bars to cater for everyone. There are supermarkets and shops on the way to the beach and if you just venture a couple of blocks back you will find other bars and restaurants. Some people are just negative about everything and they attract negativity. Steer well clear or them!

We have stayed at a beach front Apartment in Playa Los Locos a number of times. It would have to be one of the best locations in Torreveija. Located extremely close to the main town, literally 5 minutes to large shopping centres or main walkway near Marina.

The Beach is awesome and is cleaned every morning. So always pristine. Los Locos comes highly recommended as a place to stay if looking for relaxing beach front holiday or if you just want to kick back enjoy the many tappa's bars and restaurant's all with walking distance. Great food great people great place.

I actually live in Torrevieja all year round. The beach is very busy in the Summer months. As are most beaches on the Mediterranean. There are actually 40 umbrellas and 80 sunbeds for hire. Public toilets, life guards and first aid hut, water taps for rinsing sand off, a small shop which sells all sorts including inflatables. You can also hire pedaloes. There are plenty of restaurants and bars in the area. Very safe for children as it's a small bay with no undercurrent.

Playa de Los Locos is a long, fine sanded, golden beach just to the north of Torrevieja centre. There are lots of beach shops, bars and beach cafés lining the road behind the beach, so you don't need to go thirsty or hungry while you are there. The beach is named after what used to be a home for the deranged. Loco = Mad

The title says it all really: the beach is quite charming, but the traffic (especially in the summer months) can be a pain. Personally, I always head to the next beach at La Cura that is, in my opinion, prettier... and pedestrianised.
