Look out across the sea and the next land mass is Africa - this tower reminds the visitor that humans have always moved across the globe

This tower is located in a park with a beautiful view. It is well kept so one cannot see evidence of much wear or weathering. This park contains a café in which one can enjoy the scenery under shade. One cannot enter the tower, presumably...More

We were disappointed by this very small tower, which was cordoned off for some reason - maybe because of vagrants. They have tried to make the grassy area around it trimmed but it is very nondescript and you could give it a miss.

This old tower is on a hill and the views to the see and down to the seaside are remarkable. Unfortunable the tower is closed and it is not possible to go on the top of the tower. Also the kiosco nearby was closed.

The tower has been rebuilt a number of times and whilst probably in the original style it’s a “modern edifice” surrounded by a scruffy park. The tower is one of many along the coast built as a watchtower against invaders and pirates. There are steps...More
