Certainly a beach that is worth a visit
Small , clean , with facilities including a beachside bar / food operation.
Well maintained , crystal clear water & easy access to off road parking & an upmarket restaurant with verandah seating + varied menu choices .....
All round lovely visit with plenty of windless areas to catch the sun !

We visited this Beach during early september. We have visited plenty of beaches in the area but none of them have so much seaweed as Punta Prima. When walking down in the water it feels as you have big boots with seaweed because they are stuck in the beginning and about 5 meters out in the water so the seaweed will get stuck on you when you get back up again.

Other than that, the Beach is very calm and thin so there are less people here. The sand is hard and more wet that dry. There is a beachbar on a higher ground where you also may rent big sofa beds. Here you may also find the toilets.

To get to the Beach you need to walk down stairs but it is handicap adjustable with an elevator, however this one did not work when we were here. There is also some parkingspaces, during high season it may be hard to get a parking cause the parking area is not so big.

The address listing above is not for punta prima beach, but Cala Piteras, which lies just below the nautilus restaurant and the promenade. Cala Piteras is about 60 metres wide with rocks either side. If you walk along the promenade in a southerly direction past the beach bars which at present have been closed down, then step off the prom and walk along a rough level path at the side of the rocks, turn right at the next closed beach bar, and you will then have to climb one flight of steps up to the paseo maritimo. Alternatively to the left of these steps is a wide ramped path which leads to punta prima beach. If you are walking along paseo maritimo the 200 meters of sandy beach lies below and can be accessed by stairs or lift(usable between June/ October, best to check). In the busier months there are toilet facilities, foot showers, beach bar and life guard. On paseo maritimo there is the punta prima restaurant which is open all year round. The walk from Cala Piteras to punta prima beach takes 20/30 mins.

Most people here seem to write about Cala Piteras and also most of the pics are from Cala Piteras. This is the southernmost beach in Torrevieja county and is situated between Nautilus and Sunrise. Punta Prima beach is 300 metres further south and much bigger and has less rocks, so swimming there is nicer. - and then you are in Orihuela county!
Cala Piteras tends to be very full, but when I take my swim before breakfast, it is empty… - and it is normally very clean, since it is cleaned almost every morning.

Great beach, not massive and over crowded, lots of Spanish people here as well as tourists(always a good sign). The churringuito(beach bar) is handy with good selection of good and drinks but can be costly. Would recommend punta prima restaurant for recharging your batteries with good food and wine! Alternatively nautilus restaurant is about 10 mon walk and is very quirky with great views, food and service here is excellent!

Beautiful location and thats where it stops, waited a long time so we asked a waitress for another bottle of wine, she tooted went to get us one never saw her again. Now the main course, one of my friends ordered seafood Ravioli well these balls of fish came wrapped in cucumber, we asked the waitress where the paster was she said in spain that is ravioli no paster but on the menu was a picture of sqaure ravioli made with pasta. The fish and chips was three pieces of thumb size fish (dont know what variety) in thick greasy batter the chips were reconstituted potato I asked the waitress if they were she said yes. My wfe had the daily special Hake so dry it was inedible. I really think that if your a tourist please take notice of this review and if you dont and you have a bad exsperience then write a review of your own.

Lovely beach with facilities. Toilet, bar and life guard. Four poster sun beds if you don't like the sand!! Walk a couple of minutes on past the beach and you find another beach bar where we enjoyed drinks and ice cream.

The actual beach at Punta Prima is small, but there are rocks so great for rock pooling either side of the beach. As others have said there are several beach bars each with a different offering. If you want late music then the bar on the promontary at the far end, the middle bar is quieter, and the bar nearest the main restaurant offers a mixture. Currently they have Zumba at 8pm, which is fun to watch. The main restaurant is great and offers a more sophisticated area for sitting if that is your bag, always busy but lovely sitting by the med, enjoying a glass or a coffee.

You can walk to La Zenia, or to Torreveija on the other side.

This beach used to have 3 beach bars. They were widely used by everyone & featured live music in the afternoons, salsa classes, Tai Chi, Zumba & more. The council of Torrevieja have decided to close all three! Now there is no where to buy a coffee, ice cream of go to the toilet!
The council continue to build tower blocks on the sea front but do not approve of anyone enjoying themselves!
If you are considering buying property here - think again.

The Punta Prima area is a good base to travel around the Torrevieja area, public transport every 40minutes to Torrevieja. The area has a small strip of bars, restaurants which are very popular. The area has 2 beaches which are clean and tidy with some beach bars, which are very good.
