A reminder of Torrevieja's past, when it relied on the dangerous trade of fishing. The statue is bang on the main promenade, and is a counterpoint to the town's bustling modernity. Go and see the painting in the main church; it shows Torrevieja in 1960....More

I love all art saying story's. "La Mujer del Pescador" The Fisherman's Wife is telling her story. She is sitting on a bench at the beach day after day, looking to the sea, waiting for her husband. Is he coming back from sea? Is he...More

The statue of the women who waits for the sailor to return is intriguing and people use this as a great photo opportunity, as she sits at one end of a bench.

So many of our visitors, family and friends have had their photo taken sitting next to the lady on the bench, it's like the proof of a visit.

A poignant statue with a lovely feel to it. Once again not earth shattering but just a lovely stautue and a great photo opportunity. It is fun to park yourself close by and watch people taking photos.

I have enjoyed sitting with her, listening to the changing sounds of the sea like a natural symphony of sea sounds and Spanish silence on an otherwise busied thoroughfare.

A novel idea to put a statue to the Fisherman's wife looking out to sea waiting for him to come home. There must have been many times when he did not make it back and I like to think that brings more meaning to this...More
