Lola looking out to see is an iconic image of Torrevieja. The views around are superb, close to the night market and the Hombre del Mar. The cat protection area is close by, if you like felines, have a look at some of the most viewed felines in Spain.

A reminder of Torrevieja's past, when it relied on the dangerous trade of fishing. The statue is bang on the main promenade, and is a counterpoint to the town's bustling modernity. Go and see the painting in the main church; it shows Torrevieja in 1960. Unrecognisable today.

I love all art saying story's. "La Mujer del Pescador" The Fisherman's Wife is telling her story. She is sitting on a bench at the beach day after day, looking to the sea, waiting for her husband. Is he coming back from sea? Is he bringing some fish? Or maybe a turtle for a nice soup? Or is he not coming back this time? His small bout is old and have been leaking for some time. How long shall I hope and wait?
