We stayed not far from the playa de levante . A beautiful , disabled friendly promenade with a lot of restaurants and shops . The beach area is very clean with nice sand and well maintained. A lot of police presence so the place makes u feel very safe . We loved having a leisurely stroll daily on the promenade

We spent the morning browsing the many shops and boutiques for Christmas presents. Having spent a few hours shopping at Zara, Ale-Hop, Sketchers, Fashion City, Mango and the many independent boutiques, jewellery, souvenir and shoe shops within the narrow alleyways and shopping streets, we headed to the beach.

To our amazement the beach was vast and beautifully clean with lovely soft sand and an inviting sea. Luckily we brought throws and suncream, because the weather was boiling. There were sunbeds and umbrellas to hire. The beach was busy but everyone was socially distanced and we sunbathed for a few hours. We then walked along the beach until we came to LA Provisional where pints of lager were €1.50. The bar was busy, so we sat on the edge of the pavement opposite the bar facing the beach. There was a great atmosphere with a choir singing on the beach. We then headed to KMs bar for a late lunch, before continuing with our Christmas shopping.

This is a spacious, clean beach with soft sand and a warm sea. 2 sun beds and an umbrella costs 18€ a day to hire, but there is space to bring your own. Opposite the beach, there is an amazing strip of bars, restaurants, cafes and hotels. There is a great holiday atmosphere and it was reassuring to see a police presence (there are regular patrols along the front). I would definitely recommend a visit to the beach.

Levante is a beautiful sandy beach, always very clean, and there are no real restrictions in place, other than having to access at the wooden ramps, and a line beyond which you cannot sunbathe or take chairs etc.
From about half way, towards the old town, it is mostly smooth sand as you enter the water, but in the other direction you have to negotiate rocks to find a smoother bottom. If you are not aware of this, it is easy to just run into the water and suffer an injury, I have witnessed this. Buy a pair of water shoes, it makes it a much better experience.
The road and pavements have benefitted from a reduction in the number of mobility vehicles, I believe there has been a curb on the hiring of these to those who do not need them, but they have been replaced by another scourge, e scooters, they are a silent menace, and you have to be wary.
There are few positives as a result of covid, but one here is the disappearance of the potato men, who for decades have conned the unwary and the gullible. Police patrols along the front are very frequent, and they would not be able to operate, so these vermin have at least for now been exterminated.

me and the wife often travel to benidorm , we have just came back from a 5 night stay . the beach was fairly busy and we always have lovely days relaxing here. there are 2 main things that stop this beach being excellent and they are. TOILETS ARE IN VERY VERY SHORT SUPPLY, and last but not least EVEN WITH THE PANDEMIC WE NOTICED THE SCRUFFY COCKTAIL SELLERS ARE STILL PARADING UP AND DOWN SELLING THEIR DODGY COCKTAILS. THE POLICE COULD EASY CATCH THEM BUT DONT SEEM TO BOTHER. we were once told by a lady that she saw them sucking the ice cubes for their cocktails to make them smaller ( we obviously dont know if this is true but dont know why she would lie ) one thing that is true is that they buy some cheap crap from the supermarket to make these cocktails ( me and the wife watched them making them ) and we saw an old chap ( frothing at the mouth ) cutting up the fruit to go in these cocktails, SO STEER CLEAR OF THEM. IF YOU WANT A COCKTAIL GET ONE FROM THE MANY BARS / RESTAURANTS ON THE BEACH FRONT .

Nice and clean beach, very full though. We didn't expect this many people since the COVID situation but it was alright, we always found a good place and bought a parasol since you have to pay for 5€ per day to have one which isn't a lot but it forces you to take the same spot and we wanted to move around so we bought a big one for 12€ (which is cheaper also if you stay for more days) and left it in the hotel. It was very nice to walk in the sand and the sea was very clean. I would recommend those plastic shoes for the sea, since it has a lot of stones but once you have those, it's totally safe and beautiful and you get to see many fish swimming around you. There's also a possibility to wash away the sand from your shoes and feet which is perfect before you decide to walk on the beautiful promenade that takes you directly to the city! :)

Plenty of visitors now on playa levante, pegged out squares have been removed which means the beach can be manicured like in the past.
People leave space between themselves so seems to be working ok, beach looks great again and seafront bars have more customers , though those open are far from bursting.
Very nice along there currently.

I like it quiet 💛
The children gad a wonderful time on the beach.
It was a little windy but bright and beautiful.
