The Downhill Bike Ride is a brilliant day out. At least 30 kilometers of downhill cycling through picturesque mountain villages, fertile valleys and beautiful mountains of Costa Blanca's inland. Bike and safety equipment supplied. Easy ride for all ages and experience levels. Very safe roads with front & rear mini bus support. The guided walks take you to the beautiful mountain scenery of the Costa Blanca. From easy walks around reservoirs to the summits of the highest mountains in the area you can chose a walk that suits you. Knowledgeable and experienced guides. Languages provided English, Dutch, German and Spanish! All tours are run by registered active tourism company Bike Breaks SL.

A must while in Benidorm

A must while in Benidorm…. I contacted the company while planning our holiday to Benidorm. Emails were answered quickly and provided all answers to my questions. Once we had decided it was something we wanted to do we booked before leaving, we were asked for certain details for insurance purposes this saved time on the day. We were picked up dead on time at the hotel. Tony was full of all sorts of information pointing out different things on our journey to the top of the mountain. We were given our bikes and helmets. A safety talk and the importance of using the correct brake. Once Tony was sure we were all comfortable with the bike we had been allocated time to start the first decent.I used one of their fleece jackets as I’d forgot mine. Trust me no matter how warm it is on the coast it’s considerably cooler in the mountains. We had so much fun riding down the mountain with regular stops to make sure everyone was ok, for Tony to point out interesting facts and not forgetting great photo opportunities. There were 3 rides over the day 2 in the morning and 1 one in the afternoon. You can take your own lunch or eat at the lovely restaurant we stopped at. Don’t worry about your bags and things as you can leave them in the mini bus which was never far behind Chris made a great back up driver, you can also ride in the bus if you have had enough of the down hill experience. As iv said Tony was full of interesting facts along the way but I did enjoy the folk tales as well as the true facts. Interesting things seen throughout the day other than flower and fauna were elephants, camels, tigers, giraffe, wild boar, wild dear and rabbits. The mountain villages we’re idilic. The day came to an end at bar where we were all presented with a certificate which I thought was a great touch.

The down hill appeals to you but you have concerns… not been on a bike for years not a problem as they say you never forget how to ride. … worried about cycling up any hills don’t be it’s as it says on the tin down hill, ok so there were just a couple of very small elevations but these were in the villages and nothing like hills and over the day I think there were 3 of these and we had great fun encouraging each other not to get off the bike. A ride for all ages for anyone who can ride a bike a truly fantastic day met some lovely people Tony and Chris were fabulous tour guides, a well organised tour can’t recommend highly enough.

Fantastic Day

Great experience! I was completely dreading it in the morning and wondered what I had signed up for, but loved every second.
We were a group of 3, and the only people doing it so felt like a private experience! Tony our guide was great from start to finish - took time to show us the sights and some local history. Ask him to point out the Easter Island Head (Tony’s own spot!)
We’d recommend to anyone coming to the area and wanting to fill the day with something other than the pub!

Fantastic Day Out

This was a fantastic day out. Tony and Chris are excellent, very helpful and friendly, and run a very efficient, professional business.

The whole event was well organised, punctual, safe and enjoyable and well worth the money.

I would definitely recommend The Downhill Bike Ride and it is suitable for people of all ages and abilities.

Exceeded expectations in every way.

Just back from a two week stay in Benidorm, booked with this company for the Downhill Bike ride and 3 walks.
The downhill bike ride was a wonderfully chilled way to see the stunning scenery and pretty villages - with the surprising bonus of seeing tigers, elephants, giraffe as we cycled gently downhill.
The walks we booked on varied from a three hour gentle walk through the terraces around Relleu to longer ascents involving some scrambling. In each case the walks were very well led, adapting to the abilities of the group.
For every day we were promptly picked up from near our hotel, enjoyed post-activity refreshments in a quiet village (a different one each time), and dropped back.
I would thoroughly recommend.

Great Day Out

For the second time we went on the Downhill Bike Ride.
An outstanding experience well organised and suited to all ages.
Time is taken to fit bikes to individuals and the ride fully explained.
You can cycle at your own pace, stop take photos with the ride stoping at frequent intervals to all to catch up. At various locations the history was explained.
A nice lunch in a village.
All nationalities take part and it is great to talk with people from other countries.
A highly recommended trip

Our 5th time to Benidorm and our 5th time on this ride and it was excellent as always. Good pick up time outside our hotel.

Kris drove us to join up with the other vehicle, opposite the Safari Park. In the car park had our safety brief and a practice ride around car park. Listen carefully to your brief, any questions always ask. Kris always gives clear and concise instructions and tips.

Then away we go. Lovely and exhilarating, breath-taking scenery, wonderfully quaint villages, lovely and pleasant cycling conditions too.

So am gonna condense this review as I have placed reviews in the past - we had some lunch at a rural restaurant, Omelette and Chips with a drink, delicious.
More cycling followed then when pulling into the large layby, I expected it to be over, how wrong I was, they allowed us to pedal further, which was great - and was directed to a bar and leave bikes next to trailer.

We all enjoyed a wonderfully chilled glass of beer and laughed and chatted.
Another great ride out!! Thank you so much, see you next time.

Brilliant cycling trip.

Had a great day out with Tony and Tone, we were taken up high in the mountains and we cycled down 3 different routes downhill. Scenery was outstanding. The two guides were brilliant friendly and knowledgeable. We were never rushed on during the day and stopped at several points and given local information about the region which enhanced the experience. We were cycling where professionals train and the tight winding roads were amazing. We stopped for lunch and then stopped at the end for a celebratory drink. I cannot recommend this trip enough. Would do it again when I'm back.

Fabulous Downhill Bike Ride

Over 40k of the most scenic downhill bike riding. Kris and Tony are first class guides. We were a group of six with mixed abilities on bikes and two of the group hadn’t been a bike for a number of years, and it didn’t matter at all as we felt in safe hands.
From pick up, through instruction and ride, the service and friendliness of Kris, Tony and support team was great. The minibus was with us throughout so if at anytime we wanted to stop we could. If you want a truly different and natural experience in Benidorm this is surely it. We even saw tigers, elephants and giraffes as we passed by the local wildlife park.
We did this ride in early Feb, we took sleeved tops and some of us took leggings although the boys opted for shorts. I would recommend sunglasses and trainers plus take some euros for lunch and a beer at the end.

Wonderful ride down the mountains of Benidorm

Tony and Kris were friendly and helpful guides on the exhilarating and scenic 45 Klms of downhill biking in the beautiful mountains behind Benidorm. Away from the bustling beach with the wind in our hair it was a fantastic day out. Lunch was at the (unexpected) zoo at Aitana and very nice it was too ( or you can take your own picnic). Finished up with a beer at the pretty village of Finestrat (almost impossible to find by bus but number 14 might take you there). Recommended highly, even for the lazy cyclist like me as it was all downhill 👏👏👍

Brilliant cycling adventure!

We did the Downhill Bike Tour in the mountains, with Tony and Kris, and it was excellent. It's a brilliant, full day out and is fantastic value at €39. Tony and Kris were great company and provide a very well-organised excursion , suitable for all ages and cycling abilities. The day encompassed three downhill rides amidst breath-taking countryside views, taking in some of the region's natural and historic sights en route. Many thanks to Tony and Kris for a genuinely great day!
