It is one of the access doors to the Alhambra, if you have access to the Nasrid palaces you can enter through this door and avoid the lines at the general entrance. If you do not have tickets through this door, you can access the Alhambra museum and the Art Museum, the Carlos V palace, which are free, and you can walk through the Callejas inside the wall. You can go down the Chinese path, which is quite steep, a beautiful route but I do not recommend doing it to go up unless you are in shape.

We are in Montpellier, and have been guided by The local tourist Office in Montpellier about activities, and amongst other that we could visit the Faculte de medecine, part of the Montpellier university, and with 800 years of history. As we are not here for a long time, it is important, that nothing goes wrong with the booking. We wanted to visit the faculty tomorrow morning at 10 o clock, but there was only one adult ticket left, and one ticket for under 17 years ticket, so two tickets. I telephones the Office de Tourisme, and they told me, that in their system, they could only se one ticket in total. But I could book the 10:30 which was also in English. I did as adviced by the Office de Tourisme. Around 17:30 today the called me to telte med, there was not enough people on the tour, so it would be cancelled. I again asked about the other tour at 10 o clock, and was told, it was totalt sold out. I tried to book it again, and again it was possible for me to get two tickets, however my daughter who is 21 years, cannot Enter on a ticket for under 17 years, so I called the Office de Tourisme back, asking, why it was possible to book the tickets, but they tell me it is sold out. The otherwise very nice girl I was talking to, told “ I dont know” she told me to hold, while asking her colleages What to do, and returned whith the offer, that if I booked the two tickets I had on hold, they would register the tickets as two adults, a couple of minutters later, when they were doing the lists. I was happy and tried to finalise the booking by paying, by the closed for the booking, so It was no longer possible to by a ticket. They could have helped us loooong before, they could have presented us whith this solution, when first I tried to make the booking at 10 o clock, instead of telling me to make a booking, for a tour half an hour later, a tour, that most likely would be cancelled, due to no other booking. Not very nice of you. Also to start with, when the tour was cancelled, I was asked if I wanted a tour of the city instead, or if I could do the tour in next week. We leave saturday morning so no. I have learned, should I returne to Montpellier, that booking a tour, means nothing, and that the tourism office, are not trying to help, they just want to call you in the last minute, close down and go home. So we will do this tour in Copenhagen University instead, thats were we come from. My daughter who has had an offer from Sorbonne, and want to study in France, and so much wanted to visit the faculte de medecine is so dissapointed, and so am I. You should have presented your solution from the betingning, instead of Selling us something that was not going to happen, and when finally wanting to help us, you shut the system down, while we are making the booking. We planned our days so we could do this visit. Nice people to talk to, but it does not help, if what they sell you is wrong. We are so dissapointed and we could have gone, that is the worst part . I have Photoshop of the booking I was making should the Office de Tourisme be interested in seeing these.

The Gate of Justice is one of the four entrance gates to the Alhambra palace complex, and integrated into the Tower of Justice. The gate and tower were built in the first half of the 14th century.
Admission is free.

The Gate of Justice is one of the many gates in Alhambra.
It was built in 1348 by Yusuf I, Sultan of Granada. Above the gate stands the Torre de la Justicia (Justice Tower).
The fountain Pilar de Carlos V is located below this gate.

We tried to visit today. Our holiday has been booked since January and I have read up extensively on things to do. One of the reasons, if not the main , to visit Granada was to visit the Alhambra Palace. I decided against booking an advance tour as I didn’t really know who these people were. I just wanted to turn up and wander ( as I have at any attraction in any country I have visited before). Mistake. We didn’t get in, the tickets are only available on line and sell out weeks in advance . And annoyingly, I didn’t read one mention of this anywhere. Frankly the staff were rude and unhelpful and the whole thing seemed very disorganised. €14 a ticket but you can’t get one, tours vary from €50 to nearly €200!!! As I write this, I am so disappointed so I am writing this review hoping it will help someone else that wanted to do the same as me.

We booked tickets almost 1/2 a year in advance to be sure to get ticket to Alhambra in the afternoon, and individuel tickets to our family consisting of 7. - 3 children - 2 parents and 2 granparents. My mother is 75 and has had problems with her back, so she would like to Walk in her own pace, and not hurry or have to stand still for a long time listening to a guide. My father is 78 and not so strong anymore. One of my parents wishes was to visit Alhambra. We booked tickets to all of us through GETYORGUIDE - paid 265 euro - and believed that we would have tickets to 14th july (tomorrow) in the afternoon. It turns out that GETYOURGUIDE use a local provider called Granavision, and our tickets are not at all secured. Granavision send us an e-mail Yesterday telling us, that we now are on a guided Tour. We have telephoned them, to tell them, that it is not possible for us, and that we dont want guided tours at all. They dont Care, “those are the tickets we have” they told us, - so Alhambra provides the tickets they want to provide, regardless what has been booked, Granavision Think they can sell any kind of tickets to GETYOURGUIDE without making sure the tickets are actually available, and GETYOURGUIDE fail to inform that the ticket You book May not be available in spite of You booking and paying a long time in advance, and thinking You have tickets. At Granavision I talked to two people, and the first person was not happy with me, as I did not understand that it was an upgrade!!???! She then hung up on me, could not be bothered to talk to me anymore. (The guided Tour is a downgrade to us as my mother cannot follow a guide around in three hours without seriously hurting her back - my youngets child doesnt understand english, and we have to keep silent during the Tour instead of having a Nice time with each other, been able to talk together) The second person I talked to at Granavision understood us, but could not help she said, we were forced to take the guided Tour. -
Now we are left with two choises, either we loose the tickets, by not going tomorrow, and disapoint my parents and us as well, or we go and hurt my mothers back and have a horrible time. Thank You Alhambra, Granavision and GETYOURGUIDE. When You advertise tickets that are individual tickets, and You sell them without informing that You are not secured your tickets, it is in fact false marketing, in Europe that is in fact illeagal. So dont book Alhambra unless you have no prefference at what hour You go and what kind of tickets You have, and You dont mind paying a fortune for this.

A bit of research on the website explains the procedure for acquiring tickets and it works perfectly well if this is followed. I booked in advance and had no difficulty whatsoever as the staff at the ticket collection shop were extremely helpful. The only grumblings I heard on the day were from those who had not booked in advance or did not follow the prescribed procedure. Of course it is crowded as it receives thousands of visitors each day so it is reasonable to que from time to time.
This location fully deserves its status and it is an absolute pleasure to walk around

We took an organized tour which we booked in advance. We had an excellent tour guide named Alberto whose English was excellent and who was very knowledgeable and explained things well and recounted good stories.

The view from here is spectacular and so are the buildings and the gardens. It is very large, and the cobble stones are at times not pleasant for walking, so I would bring decent shoes. Make sure to enjoy the surroundings and not see it through the camera.
I didn't enjoy the guided tour, I'd much rather have been able to walk around on my own. Bring cash, you can buy bottled water and some souvenirs here, but they don't accept visa.

Very impressive. One of the four historic gates to enter the Alhambra, dating back to the 14th century.

All one word when typed in. It should be the first choice that pops up when Googled with Spain’s country stem (es) on the end. They have an English language choice. We experienced an absolutely fabulous guide and driver.

Quiero saber si con la tarjeta de turismo Granada Card, está incluida la entrada a TODAS las atracciones de la Alhambra, o si es sólo un descuento y en tal caso, por qué valor.
