4 € entry for adults (low season)... I was expecting a walk, it is like 15 min walk return! Only worth it to pay if you really plan to go for a couple of hours to have a bath in the “pozas” but the place is quite small and looks like would be way too busy to enjoy in high season or weekends. Also not much place to leave towels or lie down after bathing.

Several parkings, you pay 3€ and then you can use the 3€ voucher to consume on the bars/restaurants owning the parkings.

If ever a place was overrated, is this. Also not much “nature” as most is made.

Short walk from the car park and reasonable entry prices. Going in November we were surprised at the great weather and temperature of the water. A lovely walk up the side of the waterfalls. Would take around 20 minutes to fast walk to the top. Not suitable for wheelchair users or people who can't do many stairs. There is a platform for jumping from and a rope to help you back out, further up is a nicer place for a photo opportunity and the chance to walk in the water. Take water shoes as the rocks are slippy. Toilets available half way. Beautiful place to spend a couple of hours

Went visited the falls and arrived early 9am to try beat the crowds. €5 euro entry which gives you from 9-1 to walk up the mountain stream in it or on a path. I would suggest paddling shoes or crocks as the river bed is rocky. You make your way up to a lovely waterfall with loads of paddling and swimming along the way. Very scenic and a nice family trip out not one for the less mobile.

We had a great day here yesterday. Had read conflicting views on whether to bother but glad we did. Had a cracking day out for 5 euro each. The scenery is lovely, we had a few refreshing dips in the pools and there were lots of restaurants on the road with swimming pools that you could use as a customer. Definitely invest in some swimming shoes. Theres plenty for sale on the street near the entrance. Perfect way to spend a few hours but it's worth getting there earlier. The queues late afternoon as we left were huge x

Had lovely day well few hours at waterfall and was amazing, middle summer , was just not enough time as trip/coach takes you little village 1st to spend your money and i was bored to tears there, so by time got waterfalls didnt have much time there which is not fair as was lovely and where i wanted to go. If i could find trip or get there myself i would just go there and bypas little village. Seems to be what all trips do. I would like to find trip that just went waterfall so there for longer. If wanted to walk round nice older buildings thats the trip i would do or go old town.
But i do think waterfalls is a must do do. Its not massive . So take some towels and make your place to sit and get in that water. Take some swimming shoes as rocks can hurt feet

Despite all of the reviews that declare this as a tourist trap, we visited. Unfortunately they have tried to enhance a natural waterway by adding extra water channels and waterfalls and pave the footpath beside the falls and pools. This destroys what could be a natural wonder. Swimming was prohibited when we visited.

I went to the Callosa waterfalls begin of May 2010, during my firstholiday in Benidorm. We went on a 'free' trip from Benidorm.
My reason for wanting to see the Algar waterfalls is from watching ITV's Benidorm. The waterfalls are very pretty however the site is not as big as it looks on TV. There is a swimming area (and a diving board) which I would imagine you would'nt be able to get anywhere near in the hight of the summer as it isnt a very big area.
You can either get to the waterfalls by car, taxi or organised coach tour (there are no service buses that go there - they stop in the village just outside and you have to walk a good 30 mins walk to the Algar Waterfalls.
When you arrive you have a fairly steep hill to walk up with a couple of souviner shops on the way and once you've got your tickets there are many steep steps wo walk up to the waterfalls (I would not recommend this for the eldery, disabled or anyone with walking difficulties as these steps are really quite steep).

The walk around the waterfalls is very nice and great scenery.
The first waterfall that you see is where the Timotei shampoo advert was filmed.
There is a designated picnic area but it is not along side the waterfalls - no food, drink or ice creams can be consumed near the waterfalls.
There is also a restaurant at the bottom by the ticket office.

The Callosa area is also where the Nispero fruits are grown - there really are a must try/! and very cheap (bag of 20 for 1euro!)

I would go back to these waterfalls as there really are very nice and only 25 mins journey from Benidorm and only costing 3 euros entry. When I went visited the waterfalls it was a faily warm sunny day and there were about two coach loads of people visiting so wasnt too busy. I would not going during the summer time as I can imagine it gets very busy.

This is a truly beautiful place, but in high season its so packed with people it feels more like a theme park and its really not enjoyable or relaxing at all. We went on a hot day and it was almost impossible to find a spot to go into the water. The surrounding area with shops and car parks are also hideous. Avoid at all cost unless you love crowds and near naked mostly chubby people with tattoos covering most of their bodies pushing past you.

I went ti Benidorm last year 2013 with Thomson and we went to Algar Falls..We were surprised to find that it was quite hill and steep and despite this there were people with stick and walkers.

Imagine our surprise when on our welcome meeting no mention was made of the conditions despite us pointing this out to the rep...

Picturesque waterfalls with a series of cascades, pools and streams that visitors can enjoy. Water comes off the mountains so don't expect warmth but you quickly get used to it and its lovely on a very hot day. I. Sure it can get very busy but when we visited it was pleasantly populated. We went with friends and babies so our visit to the actual waterfalls probably was for a couple of hours however we arrived in time for a late lunch at one of the restaurants just outside the waterfalls site and used their pool and play area before heading inside which, added to a hour car journey each way, made a full day's entertainment for the tots. The falls charge admission of 4e per adult and its well worth the money. Parking is 3euro in most of the car parks nearby and most seem to provide a voucher that will get you a small discount at one of he local restaurants. It's worth noting the following: there are a LOT of steps so not pushchair friendly at all, take your sling if you can. If you do take a pushchair and carry your child you have to leave it next to the admission hut so probably best not to leave your pride and joy there if you can help it. We did and it was still there when we got back but my heart was in my mouth as I returned for it!! Finally don't expect great food at the restaurants nearby, it was edible-ish but we knew we were really just paying for the location and the pool.
