A massive building over two floors with all the fresh produce you can think of. The selection of meat and fish along with cheeses etc. was really impressive.

Located just on the edge, the market has plenty of fish, meat, cheese and vegetable stalls. Worth going to if you want to get fresh food

This is a must visit in Murcia. It is next to the Floating Bridge, Murcia"s oldest bridge connecting the Carmen area to the main city. Step in to a wide range of products, fresh, canned, bottled...it will have the saffron Spain is famous for, as well as fresh shrimp, fish of all varieties which you can have prepared over a grill while you sip a beer...standing service only but hey this only adds to the local color!.

Took a stroll round this great market in the centre of Murcia. The fresh fish was to displayed beautifully and the colours and aromas of the foods was wonderful. Well worth a visit!

What a selection of food. Vegetables, meats, fishes - all great quality and so much choice. Nice to take a slow stroll around the 2 floors and soak up the marvellous atmosphere.

El Mercado is situated close to the Rio Segura. So stroll through the two floors and pick up items for a picnic. We purchased a fresh loaf of bread, sliced ham and cheese, fruit, and drinks and thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it. The prices were terrific, too. Just wish there were more bread/pastry stands. Still, a great place to stroll and get some wonderful, local food items.

A two-tiered food market that doubles as a place for people to meet and eat. What a treasure! Every urban area should have one. Here you can buy your food and have it cooked in one of several 'cafs' within. The place was bubbling with activity and an eye opener for my lads, who rarely give a second thought to the meat that ends up on their plates. Wishing we had mercados like this at home!

The Mercado de Veronicas is a long, ornate, visually splendid early 20th Century structure on the north side of the Rio Segura, and houses the crisp colors, textures, and aromas of a complete variety of fresh vegetables and fruit, meats and cheeses, seafood, and much, much more. If you enjoy preparing your own meals, as we do, you will find everything you need at the mercado. Take time to visit the remains of the Medieval Moorish defensive wall just to the north, enjoy the nearby Botanical Garden to the south, and stroll through the Glorieta de España to the east.

The market was designed by the same architect who built the fabulous Casino (which must also be visited). Looks quite like a railway station from the outside. Inside the format is long and narrow on two floors and there is some splendid local produce to admire
