Awesome place left to explore but don't just stop at the first battery push on to the next and go through the tunnel .... Find hidden tunnels that lead to the cliff edge ... Great for kids ... Complete open access

It's a great drive up and down narrow mountainous roads and not for those of a nervous disposition but the views are tremendous and certainly worth it. For someone like myself who is a bit of a sad history buff and as such had read...More

The drive to the battlements and Vickers guns, overlooking the sea, is well worth making. The great guns, never fired in anger, were manufactured in Coventry, United Kingdom, and bought to the cliff tops along the winding military road by traction engines, long since lost.

Went with family including a lady who struggled to walk. A very interesting drive along a winding road to get there and parking was on an unpaved and small carpark. The fort itself at the time we visited (August) had no facilities like a cafe...More

Fascinating ex army barracks in the guise of a medieval castle! Great views from the top and some good photo ops with the giant guns ... but ... not maintained or manned in any way. Many of the internal rooms have been urinated in and...More

Went today with my wife. The road from Campilo de Adentro forks and you should take the left fork. Much safer than the right fork. We got all the up to the main gate only to find it closed, allowing only foot traffic the rest...More

Went today to look at the big guns here but found a much bigger site than we thought. It was a thoroughly enjoyable walk with the dogs and the vistas our to the sea were stunning.

Heart stopping drive at times to reach the place but worth it. Not for those with walking difficulties, need to be able to walk 1km over uneven ground. The history behind it is interesting and worth reading up before you go as there is scant...More

It's a fair trek from towns like Cartagena or Puerto Mazarron. I would recommend hiring a car.
