We stopped (by car) when the fort was closed, but it wee still fun to wander around the property and see the area. If there is time, id stop again. We also took the tour boat out in the harbor near the fort, which is another nice way to see it. Nice historical site. Would recommend.

The Christmas Fort is close to the Cartagena Bay and offers the best view of the old and new city. The entrance fee is minimal 3.5 euros. This can be visited on your own or with a tour guide. The Fort gives one a glimpse into the history of the region.

Started the day in beautiful sunshine. Took the barca turistico round the harbour. Stopped at Christmas fort for an hour. Very informative and nice way to soak up some of the history and culture of Cartagena.

Did not realise that this was in Cartagena until we visited the Tourist Information Centre in the Town Hall. Easy to find if your driving - well sign posted. Free parking too and lovely views. €3.50 to enter; staff were very pleasant and spoke excellent English. This place is not huge, but it is steeped in Spanish history and worth... More

Interesting fort, great views, made a pleasant few hours trip with a short boat trip to and from. Cartagena has a great naval history, it was most educational.

A well preserved old fort that has many displays and lods of information for the history buff. I travelled to it a boat, but there are catamarans that also do the trip, in addition to this I also had a history of the second world war sub pens and fortifications. A very enjoyable trip

This is a very difficult place to get to and you need a car, it is at the furthest point of Cartagena harbour, the route is not for the feint hearted but follow the naval base as you l ave Cartagena keeping it on your left, go past the industrial area and the the old submarine pens until you get... Slightly out of the way on the other side of the harbor - near the navel base, this beautifully restored fort tells the story of how the Spanish protected the great port during the 1850s. Wonderful visit and very nice people.

Visited with two children was really interesting my kids loved it. From seeing a real cannon to travelling by boat it was a great day out. Staff were so friendly and couldn't do enough for my kids.

Understand you can visit via a boat from cartegena harbour but I drove round it's only a few miles, can get a little confusing you have to go through the navel dockyard area, but worth the effort the walk upto the castle and the Feds are wonderful some times you can see the boats going in out the port so...
