This was our second time to visit this museum and I enjoyed it even more than the first. It is very near the cruise ship port with the entrance on the main boulevard among all of the restaurants and shops. The theater restoration is one of the best I've seen and really makes you feel as though you've gone back... More

This is one of the best Restored Roman Theatre that I have seen in my travels! Build as a Tribute to the Emperor Augustus has been excavated and restored despite a Byzantine church being built over it during Christian times. The attached Museum is also full of the artifacts discovered during the dig and is so close to the port... More

An amazing Roman artifact in the heart of the City of Cartagena. Walking around the outside of the structure gives you a feel for the size and impressive structure of the theatre but it is inside that you really feel the grandeur of the site. The entrance to the Theatre is not where you would expect it to be, it... More

I have a keen interest in Roman history so I was not going to miss this. We arrived on a Sunday and the museum only opens for the morning but you can get around it in an hour or two. My wife went shopping and I still managed to meet her within an hour and a half! The layout appears... More

The Roman Theatre Museum is a beautifully structured museum with an impressive Roman Theatre. It has survived Carthaginian, Roman, Byzantine and Arab occupations. Fascinating layers of history. I highly recommend it.

This was a very hidden treasure and was not discovered until the 1988. The museum society is doing a very god job of exposing and preserving this Roman ruin. If you are a senior, you will get a discount. The ruins were first built around 10 BC. Over the years housing developments were built over the Roman forum with the... More

This has to be the "crown jewel" of the city--which has many great sights to see. The theater is quite large and very well restored. It is most impressive and most exciting to view from the park above it. There is an entrance to get into the theater and walk around it, but I chose to go to the top... More

The Roman Theatre museum was a nice spot to spend about an hour to tour the museum and theatre. Not much different than other theatres you would encounter in Italy or Spain

The information on display about the original construction methods was fascinating, the exhibits were well described. The photos showing the removal of the pre Roman housing to expose the remains were very informative, but opening the door to go topside and look down on the full splendour of the amphitheatre was stunning.
