We did the 1984 room, and had a great time. We've done a lot of escape rooms before (20+) and quite a few tend to follow a very formulaic, linear structure. This room was different from the start, with really interesting puzzles different from anything we'd seen before. In particular, there were a lot of puzzles which didn't involve numbers or keys, with lots of different things going on in the room, and many, quite tricky puzzles to solve simultaneously.
If you've done a lot of escape rooms before and are looking for something different, I'd highly recommend checking out the 1984 room. If you're a newbie, be aware that this is a tough one to start on! The other rooms seem like they are easier and equally good though, so don't be put off coming here.
Only negative was there was one clue that was only in Spanish that didn't have a translation - probably on us for not knowing the language/asking for a translation though!

Tons of fun, we really enjoyed our time there. They have two rooms, we just tried the circus having a nice experience. We'll go again to try the other one for sure!

This was my second escape room and definitely more difficult than the first time. John was excellent and also spoke English very well as a guide. I highly recommend this escape room for groups larger than 3 and especially for experienced escapers. I have tried 2 other places in Madrid but they are not as challenging or original as the Gran Escape.

This was my first ever visit to an escape room and El Gran Escape did not disappoint. As a group of 4 we completed The Circus and enjoyed every minute. The staff were very friendly and helpful if needed. This is definitely a great way to spend a fun afternoon in Madrid!! I couldn’t recommend it enough.

Went to this place for a birthday outing and had a great time. Friendly staff with a strong level of English, great concepts for the escape rooms and a challenging puzzle to solve. Perfection

El gran escape is one of the few places that is worth of going with friends to enjoy the experience. It is intuitive and challenges your imagination on searching for the clues. I highly recommend going there with your friends, also, the Staff is professional and very friendly👌🏻👌🏻

We came across El Gran Escape on Trip Advisor and decided to check it out whilst we were in Madrid for a couple of days. We were a group of 5 aged between 25 - 58.
We played the Big Brother room first. We thoroughly enjoyed our escape so much that we booked in the next day to try the Circus room!! Jon the host is great, very friendly & hardworking and the mind behind the games! I won't say more, but go and try it out. It's a very reasonable price and we definitely recommend El Gran Escape if you are in town.
