The Cercanias will take you to a large part of Spain, lots of people use it as form of commuting into the city for work and out, it can get crowded during rush hour. Its easy to use and clean. Definitely the best way to...More

As has been previously mentioned, Cercanias are not the same as the Metro. They generally go a bit farther out. They're fairly clean and quite efficient. I was staying in Atocha, so, it was convenient for me to take the Cercania from T4 directly to...More

Cercanias are not the Metro system (or the Metro-Lite). They connect a wide area across Madrid, including the airport to the city. We stayed at a hotel near the airport and took the cercanias into the city every day. Trains are frequent, regular and reliable....More

I did not travel on the C8 train from Madrid so cannot definitively answer your question. The cercanias trains I took in Barcelona were clean and had restrooms on the train.
