Our hotel was in that square and we really liked the place. Central location, good starting point of your journeys in Madrid (Metro station within few minutes walking distance), close to a number of the major sightseeing sites like the Royal Palace, Puerta del Sol, Gran Via. A lot of dining options are around the square - restaurants, cafeterias and tapas bars - and a supermarket just around the corner.

This plaza is different to the historic old ones. Mix of modern and old and near a lot of hotels. More a junction point but buzzing. Full of restaurants and bars in a great atmosphere

Plaza de Santo Domingo is yet another public square in the centre of Madrid. There are plenty of shops around, including cafes and restaurants and the like, but there is not that much to see or do in the area. The plaza has a few seats for those tired enough to rest their weary bones which is nice. If you want a really good plaza this is not it. Try Puerta del Sol for starters, if you want excitement!

We highly recommend the Christmas Market, where Jose sells the best hot wine in Madrid. And believe me , there is not many places that do this amazing cold weather treat.

On a roasting hot Sunday afternoon my twin brother Stephen and I decided to forsake the use of public transport, which is cool and efficient in Madrid and just wander around, we came upon Plaza De Santa Domingo, a square we've visited before and always had a great time.
The architecture is outstanding here,a mix of modern and old, theres lots of great pubs, bars and restaurants around the plaza, we dropped into a few, went to Cerveceria Domingo ,enjoyed an iced cold beer watching the world pass by.
A great square, most definitely well worth checking out if your on Gran Via.

In a city with some absolutely fantastic plaza's ,Plaza De Santa Domingo is yet another fantastic square we found as we were wandering around this part of town.
We were initially in this district visiting the beautiful Church of San Gines and which is located very near this square.
There is a good mix of modern and old architecture and innumerable cafes and restaurants not just in the square but in the streets leading into the square.
It's a busy area and near some great area's including arguably the most famous square in Madrid namely Plaza Mayor.
We jumped the metro to stop Santo Domingo which drops you off in the square.
Well worth checking out.

Plaza de Santo Domingo probably used to be a pleasant square with fine old buildings on each side but a large modern concrete development in the middle has ruined the aspect of the square.

The neighbourhood square for us during our stay in Madrid, the kids enjoyed playing in the park and we found it a convenient base to walk to the various attractions nearby! Good cafes abound in the area....

İf you like walking on the streets, discover some typical Madrid cafeterias and bars you will like it. Also there are some Lebanon teterias for tea and shisha(nargile)
