It was billed as a small group tour. Imagine my surprise when I turned up and was the only one booked. I thought they would've cancelled but instead I got a private tour! Fernando was great, very knowledgable and funny. I would definitely book this company again- and selfishly hope that no one else turns up on my day. They other days I hope they are as busy as possible.

Incredible tour. Our tour guide was Fernando and he provided us with a haunted madrid tour. His stories were great! What made this trip particularly special though was his knowledge of the overall history of Spain and Madrid. Before this tour our knowledge of Spain was lacking but after this tour we had an idea of what makes Spain a historical superpower. Overall Fernando and the Haunted Madrid tour are worth the trip to Spain by themselves and I would strongly recommend this tour to anybody interested in history and stories about a great city.

We did the full day tour to Segovia, Avilla and El Escorial, and it was great.
The young lady who met us at the departure point was friendly and helpful and our tour guide Alberto was just wonderful. He was charming, attentive, informative and funny.
Segovia with its Alcazar and Roman aqueduct, Avilla with its extensive medieval walls and the austere splendour of El Escorial are all worth a visit in their own right. As Alberto said, it's not often you get to visit three UNESCO world heritage sights in one day.
Their pricing was very competitive too

Susanna our guide was excellent! We were completely mesmerized! Even our two teenage boys paid attention for 5 hours!
This is the only way to make the most of these vast museums.Everything was presented so enthusiastically and humorous but the grand finale and highlight was her presentation of Picasso's Guernica. It brought tears to my eyes and I will never ever forget this. Some experiences in life are so worth paying for!!! Thank you Susanna

We were able to see three wonderful World Heritage sites and spent ample time in each. Our tour guide, Carmen, was fabulous and really added to the great day. She was very professional, always kept the tour ticking along nicely and obviously has a great deal of knowledge and passion for her role. We had a great day.

We took this tour at the end of a long day. Fernando pumped us full of energy as who shared tales of Madrid's past. Fernando is a native of Madrid and was able to provide real insight to the near as well as the distant past. Our 16 year old son enjoyed the tour as much as we did.

My two friends and I loved our tour. City wonders did a wonderful job. Our guide Fermon was extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome in the beautiful city of Madrid. His stories were very entertaining and informative at the same time. You get to see most of the main sights and get to hear the stories behind Madrid's somewhat darker past. Also, ending with chocolate and churros can never hurt.

We did the Triangle of Art Tour. This involved all 3 major art museums in Madrid: Prado, Reina Sofia and Thyssen-Bornemiza in a 4 hour marathon. This could have been unbearably long and dull. It was anything but!
Suzanna, our guide, was dynamic and animated. She set the context of Spain within European art and worked through time showing the museums' highlights. The last hour (after a well earnt coffee!) lead up to Picasso's Guernica, setting the political and art scene with other works Picasso drew on etc. It was exciting and moving. There is no doubt we got so much more from this tour than we would have with guidebooks or headphones and although we were exhasted after we have no regrets about visiting the museums this way. We now have the foundations to visit alone.

A wonderful tour began by a walk in the Madrid gardens. We enjoyed seeing one of the public spaces that are so frequented by the Spanish. We then toured the Prado Museum with our very knowledgeable guide who made the great paintings of Goya and Velazquez ,El Greco and Titian come to life. I have never been a great lover of these artists, but I now have a new appreciation of them thanks to our guide. True to the promise of the City Wonders Tours, we were only 5 in number since three others did not show up but we entered the museum without waiting in the long, long line outside. And it was a wonderful two hour tour inside which we found interesting and entertaining despite our jet lag.
