Top ways to experience nearby attractions

The area

Address
Neighborhood: Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.

La rivoltosa is a place with true identity that knows what and how to deliver a magnificent dining experience .
The place it my resembles more to a bar than a restaurant, but when you start to read the food menù you realize this place got a mission, please their guests.
Amazing and tasty cocktails, the right selection of wine and beers complimented by a selected menu for all the palates. You might share or go for your own dish, very generous portion, and the result will be the same, fantastic.
We went there two different nights and the result was the same, happy , pleased and satisfied.
Strongly recommend this venue to start your evening in Madrid.

We stumbled across this buzzing restaurant on our first night in Madrid! Every other bar/restaurant looked quiet apart from this!! We enjoyed 4 x tapas dishes and a stunning bottle of wine!
The service (thank you Manuel) was amazing!! We wouldn’t hesitate to come back!!

My twin brother Stephen and I visited Plaza Del Rey to check out Casa De Los Siete Chimereas ( House Of The Seven Chimneys ) which is reputedly the most haunted house in Madrid and after visiting the house we dropped into Revoltosa for a drink as temperatures were hitting the mid 30's and we were in need of a cooling drink.
This is a bar I've been to on previous holidays to Madrid, I love the interior, a rustic look with great decor and furnishings including a cool looking serving bar, plenty of interesting decorative features abound throughout the bar including a vintage tandem bike suspended from the wall, theres also plenty of seating options spread throughout this bar both inside and outside looking out onto the busy and bustling Plaza Del Rey.
We were here on a Thursday afternoon,we got a table were we ordered a vermut each, these were served in excellent condition, we just kicked back, chilled out and took in the great bar we were in.
My vermut was exceptional, this is in my opinion the drink of Madrid, I really enjoy it, for anyone not familiar with vermut its a fortified wine infused with brandy and herbs that when served iced cold, with a green olive and a slice of orange is such a refreshing drink indeed.
We really enjoyed our vermut's in here and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to Revoltosa we had a great time.
Revoltosa is easy to locate on Plaza Del Rey, it's in an area teeming with pubs, bars and restaurants and some amazing architecture and a major tourist destination.
Well worth checking out if your in the area.

Typical Madrid tavern, in Plaza del Rey, very close to Cibeles.
I don't know if the name refers to the zarzuela or to another circumstance.
The whole family was there and it felt very good for us, we will return if we do to Madrid

Small but cozy place. The striking and beautiful decoration.
We ordered several dishes to share and they were all very good and SUPER recommended. The meatballs, onion rings and cod brandade fritters are spectacular.
Highly recommended, close, friendly and attentive treatment.

Summary: we went to dinner and left without dinner.
A nonsense. Absolute. The attention, the desire, horrible. A shame because it was one of my favorites because of the attention
