We always stay in the Barrio Salamanca because we enjoy shopping on Calle Serrano. The street has a very wide sidewalk after it was remodeled a few years ago and is one of the best shopping streets in Europe. There is plenty of security and we do not have to worry about pickpockets. There are also some very beautiful Belle Epoque buildings that have survived and we enjoy seeing them.

When my wife and I visit Madrid we always stay at the Hotel Melia Galgos because it is beside Calle Serrano, where you can find the best merchandise of high quality. It has the most jewelry stores in the city. There is a large El Corte Ingle store too. At ABC Serrano, there is a small mall that is very good and a big supermarket. The best thing is that there is plenty of security and you do not have to worry too much of pickpockets.

In Madrid you can go shopping to many areas as the options are vast, but if you want designer brands and not too much tourist around Serrano is your best bet. Loved to see Muji, Long Champ, Nike etc and other well known brands, as well as the typical "must" Zara, that here in Serrano is the biggest in Madrid!

Calle Serrano is a wonderful shopping street, with wide sidewalks and benches to sit on if one is tired. There are many good stores located here and many good restaurants like Restaurante Jose Luis at Serrano, 89. This restaurant is famous for its tapas. There is also a wonderful museum called the Museo Lazaro Galdiano. There are two buildings of the big El Corte Ingles also. There are many good jewelry stores and designer stores.

A must in Madrid to visit the Golden Mile (La milla de Oro). Boutiques, stores, jewelries, restaurants and bars in the streets in this premium location in Madrid. Great ambience.

Best shopping location in Madrid. You can find all variety of shops from Mid stores to High-end stores. Easily spend the whole day here. Shops usually open at 10am and close between 8.30-10pm

We spent two days shopping on Serrano and the streets just north of it. All the high end designers are located here. For your convenience there are two locations to go fill out paperwork to get your sales tax back. There are two El Cortes Ingles malls, one for women and one for Men. Both have restuarants on top floors with amazing views of Madrid. If you are shopping at El Cortes Ingles be sure to ask for a tourist card. They are free and give you additional discounts on your purchases, plus you get your sales tax back. I got a Fendi backpack regularly $2500 and I got it for $1200 after all the discounts.

A beautiful street filled with high-end brand name stores. It is less crowded than other areas of Madrid - so it is great walking along the tree-lined street and enjoying the scenery.
