I know this is not an attraction and for some may seem very basic but if you're new to using trains just a few details to help you maneuver. We were in Spain July, 2019 (I didn't chose the summer but it was for a wedding) First, the on-line reservation system works great, the times were accurate, the trains were punctual, you can jump on just before the doors close in case you're running late, the AC usually worked great. Note. On one leg of the trip the AC wasn't working in our car and several of us talked to the conductor and he made a note in the system and we claimed a refund at the station. We had to wait a couple of days for it to show up on the computer. No problems claiming the refund. Showed him our tickets and immediately used the credit to purchase another ticket. You can also buy tickets and check in at the purple kiosks all over the station. We also had a phone signal almost everywher except some underground areas. Wish we had something similar in the US. When making a reservation there are different prices for refundable and non refundable. They also have "silent" cars. No electronics or talking allowed and don't forget they use the European dates. dd/mm/yyyy Happy travels.

Not sure why this is listed as an attraction on TripAdvisor, as it's just a regular metro station in the Madrid metro network. The easternmost entrance does have a pretty canopy. It's a large interchange station, but there's not many facilities except for automated ticket machines and a few food vending machines.

You'll like use this station to visit the Puerta del Sol anyway, but otherwise don't go out of the way.

Station with interesting architecture, made of iron, located in the focal point, the city centre, where all tourists meet.

The metro station servicing Puerto Del Sol,its part of the fantastic Madre Metro, it's got a cool canopy and brings you up into one of the busiest squares in Madrid.
The station has all the usual facilities to be found in a metro station, it's just cool looking and makes for some great photographic opportunities in a cool square.

The architecture of this station is a typical and reminds you of Louvre museum entry point. It is made up of iron truss and flexi glass panels. The station provides a central meeting point to all the visitors visiting downtown area. The area is in close proximity to palace royal and palace mayor. It is always bubbling with activity.

This is a popular subway entrance on Puerta Del Sol and it is made of steel and glass. The external architecture is interesting and reminded me of waves.

Estacion de Renfe de Sol is a major metro station in Madrid. We have been here a number of times. No problems of any note and no excitement either. It is large and busy. The entrance to the station is quite distinctive, but other than that there is not much else to say.

The subway station at Puerta del Sol is one of the busiest in Madrid and it certainly has one of the more unique entrances you will find in the system. The subway is an inexpensive and fabulous way to get around the city.

Cust9mer service was horrible ! Waited in long line and when we reached to front one of the agents decided it was break time So only one agent was working when I approached counter he didn’t want to help me There was a language barrier but I wrote down what I needed and he argued with me. Then another customer approached the counter and started yelling at the agent appearing that she didn’t want to wait in line I was ready to get my tickets and get out of there. Seems he got the last laugh as he sold me tickets to Madrid center rather than the Madrid airport as I requested. Oh well Renfe will not be my first choice next time I travel to Spain
