A sort of Spanish Times Square. Really beautiful, I guess it's a must. I wonder how would be to go in the movie theaters...

Busy and bustling.

Plaza Del Callao is yet another beautiful square located in the heart of Madrid.
Mostly pedestrianised, the square has some stunning architecture both modern and old, it's a vibrant, buzzing square that seems extremely popular with both locals and tourists alike, it's a great starting point to explore the city, it's a square and area I always look forward to visiting on any holiday I take to this most beautiful of cities.

Another Lovely Plaza
Oct 2018 • Couples
Plaza del Callao is yet another beautiful Spanish Plaza, one of many that Madrid is famous for. It is in the centre of the city and it is pedestrianised, which is so much better for visitors. You can walk around without worrying about the traffic and have a really enjoyable time. We visited here a couple of times and enjoyed it immensely. Lots of shops. You can do your shopping and also sit somewhere and have a relaxing drink, or maybe something to eat.

This plaza has beautiful holiday displays and is full of people buzzing with the holiday spirit. There are plenty of shops and restaurants on the side streets that lead to this plaza. It's not as busy as the Puerta del Sol plaza, and is definitely a good place for photos.

I liked this centrally located plaza. Good buzzing vibe. The Callao metro is right there. It also has a cinema, tourist info kiosk, cinema, a huge digital matrix advertising display, in true times sq. Style. There are a couple of bustling pedestrianised streets that lead to the famous puerto del sol. My insider tip is to goto the Corte El Ingles department store which is also located at the square, go up to the 9 the floor which is the food court, and from there you get great views, especially looking towards Gran Via. There is also an open terrace area to eat and drink alfresco. The windows where you can view from are just below the store green sign in my photo

Bright and glitzy.
May 2018 • Friends
Plaza Del Callao is a big bright, glitzy bustling Plaza located just off the world famous Gran Via.
It's home to all manner of modenistic building, big restaurants and some of the biggest electronic advertising screens you will find in the city, one of the most popular cinema's is located here namely Callao Cinema which looks stunning particularly at night and when it's illuminated.
With its close proximity to Gran Via its extremely popular and gets very crowded.
Plaza De Callao is really easy to locate, we jumped the metro down to stop Sol and walked through to this exciting plaza.
Well worth checking out.

Bright Lights, Busy Streets
Feb 2018 • Solo
Plaza del Callao is the bright, neon, glitzy plaza along the Grand Via just up from Puerta del Sol. It is teeming with shops, eateries, big neon billboards and all in glamour and business.
It would be a pity to miss it. It's not that anything particular is happening for you to miss, it's just that like Grand Via there's so much going on and it's worth seeing the bright lights when in Madrid even if it's not necessarily your thing.
I enjoyed it and would recommend a shirt vidit while exploring the Puerta del Sol area.

Common modern plaza

I had 5 days accommodations near it at the beginning of September. I hear all kind of stories about it. be careful in the night time, lots of homeless and scratchy people. It has to be reason why there is a Police kiosk in the middle of the plaza.
It is hang out place for youngsters. It is a busy place during the day, many tourists go by to various attractions in the area. It get dirty and smelly by the end of the day but they flush it every early morning. Avoid it unless you want to go to movies.

Busy plaza

A busy plaza in the middle of the city. Lots of people, specially young people gathering around the cinema houses. Not much to see.
