A beautiful state thronged with photo seekers. It is the centrepiece of Puerta de Sol and is as elegant as the plaza it sits in and depicts his royal highness sitting on his trusted horse. At the end of the day though, it's a lovely...More

The equestrian statue of Carlos III in the Puerta del Sol is a very good statue. It represents Carlos III, a king who loved art and was vey enlightened. The square is quite large and one has to look for the statue.

Estatua ecuestre de Carlos III Madrid is situated in the famous Plaza de Sol and is the standard king on a horse creation which are common in the city. At least you can get up close for a good look.

It's a reasonable statue and a great place for pigeons. The tree and the bear in the same square is the other reason to visit it.

If in Plaza Sol it's there. It's huge. You can't miss it. All the plaza's have statues or art forms if some type. Wander around enjoy the beauty of Madrid.

As I have said earlier, Madrid has more house mounted statues than any place I've seen. Nearly every square has one in the center and it is not surprising that Puerta del Sol has the most important of the all, Carlos III, the king mayor....More

This equestrian statue of Carlos lll appears very stately in the middle of Puerta del Sol square. The square is always bustling and is surrounded by restaurants and bars. The evening crowd can be a bit unsavory here though.

Translating into Equestrian Statue of Carlos III (Charles) this is located in Puerta del Sol and sadly surrounded by bad street performers, Carlos III is a Spanish King worth learning about, but we didn't find this statue particularly grand or impressive, there are better equestrian...More

This is a perfectly nice statue but not outstanding. The problem is that it located in an awful place - full of prostitutes, beggars, scam artists...so unless you have some kind of raging academic need to visit this statue don't go far out of your...More
