About
Hammam Al Ándalus Madrid are the only Arab Baths in Madrid, located in the historic center of the city, close to Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol. Our Hammam is the recreation of ancient Arab baths in Al Ándalus. Its decor and ambience created a climate that takes us to a distant past, inviting us to pause in our daily life, to enjoy a moment of relaxation and tranquility. An oasis for relaxation in the heart of Madrid. The Arab Bath consists of a free 90 minutes tour across three baths with different temperatures. Thermal contrasts in water offer relaxation and promote circulation. There is also a steam room and the rest room with a source of tea and the Aromas corner to choose the scent for the relaxing massage, between rose, lavender, violet and red amber. The tour can be completed with our relaxing massages, the Zalema massage or traditional kessa service. Come to Hammam Al Ándalus and immerse yourself in History.

First time in a Hamman
Apr 2021
What a beautiful place, the ambiance is wonderful and the people working there are really kind and give you a first class treatment! You receive towels, there are wonderful soaps and shampoo there, everything was easy. There were two big pools with warm and lukewarm water and then one smaller one with cold water. There was enough room for everybody, in no moment did I have to stay too close to someone to enjoy the water massage. And when the time is up, the woman working there finds you and informs you so you can go to the massage place. I never had such an experience, thank you.

Extremely bad customer service and communication by head host
I delayed posting this review, to give the management an opportunity to address my feedback... But after emailing to them on the 8th December and 20 days later... No acknowledgement... I see it fit to share publicly our experience...

On Sunday 6th December @20:00, I made a reservation for two people for Midra 60... This was an anniversary celebration gift for my husband and I...

On receipt of the reservation email, it informed us to be at reception at 19:30 for dress room formalities... AT NO POINT was it stipulated that the appointment starts at 19:30... On walking in... The lady said our treatment starts now 19:35 and showed us to the changing rooms... There were delays in the changing rooms... From access to the toilet and time to change into our bathing costumes, taking us about 10 minutes to get out... I AM NOT IN AGREEMENT WITH THE THERAPY starting the moment we walk pass the curtains but instead on arrival at the actual hammam or at 20:00 as indicated from the reservation made...

Further to that the website advises hammam bath 45 min, FOLLOWED By body scrub, foam and massage... Mint tea included... The head Therapist or host dressed in white, did not even tell us the formalities of which or what treatments would be happening and what time... She lacked in communicating clearly and showing us the facility services and how the pools work or if we were even first time visitors... She simply indicated to go downstairs, after exiting the change rooms. On arriving downstairs, we enter into the pools, barely 5 minutes in when the massage therapists come to look for us saying we are suppose to be with them... No one explained this to us... So we were under the assumption we had 45 min in the pools... From this moment on everyone was in a rush... Also it makes no sense to have a body scrub, foam wash and oil massage and then enter the hammam pools... entering into them with the body oils... Where is the hygiene in this... And the point to wash off the oil and then open up pores again... With all of this being said... We went along despite sharing our objections and confusion from what is outlined in the website with the massage therapists... And we were simply hoping that this doesn't dip into the time in the pools later... But of course it did... As we only got 20 minutes in the pools later... Before being summoned by the head lady... And after sharing with her that it can't be time up... She argued that it is what it is... from the starts at 19:35 and now it was 21:05... And we can take it up with them upstairs... She exercised NO CUSTOMER CENTRICITY...

The hammam experience can be much more enjoyable... If you take into account the pitfalls of our experience... The massage therapists were amazing... And the pools and setting look amazing too... But the head lady... Should be sent on a workshop to speak with people better and communicate clearly with everyone on what to expect... She should've also pointed out where to have the famous mint tea... As we had none... And the time of 90 minutes should kick in when we enter the hammam... Also there should be clocks around so we can see the time in and across each activity... Or wrist bands to track entry into the hammam showing time and across each treatment... I share with you my feedback in the hope that you will make changes for future clients to have a better experience...

This post was emailed directly to the complaints department and NO ONE contacted us in this regard... This shows and tells me that even the management lacks in customer centricity... Extremely disappointed in the lack of accountability by the management...

Point of no return
Feb 2020 • Couples
Price/quality does not match. It is a tourist thing. The steam room wasn’t functioning at the start so the skin wasn’t prepared for the scrub, the scrub room was cold, Massage was done with a plastic glove, never seen that before. So you can imagine our disappointment

Warm bath and warm reception
Jan 2020 • Friends
This is a very unique experience and I loved it. The baths and sauna are not over populated and you feel not having to fight for room. A word of caution, the cold plunge bath takes your breath away lol. But it optional.
I found the lighting and music so relaxing and sets a very calm mood. The mint tea that’s offered is very nice too. I recommend this as a calming effect and thorough relaxing time.

Relax and Unwind!
Jan 2020 • Friends
Spent our final morning in Madrid here. Nice way to relax and unwind after a few days of fun and before our flight. There are 3 pools- cold, warm and very warm. And a steam room. We added a 15 minute massage which they come find you. The tea is excellent and you can enjoy it through the hours you are relaxing.
Everyone was super nice.
The only negative is the locker room is like a sauna. Getting ready after is a sweaty mess. They have all the necessary items you need- shower, bags for bathing suits, lotion, hair dryer, straight iron, and more.

Well worth a visit.
Jan 2020
We booked a 45 minute massage with use of the thermal baths and we were not disappointed. The staff were friendly and the decor is amazing with a relaxed quiet atmosphere, We had a relaxing 30 minuets in the candle lit heated pools before we were collected for our massages. The massage was very good and we floated out of the spa nice and relaxed. I recommend you pre book so and arrive 30 minutes before you selected massage time.

Hamman Al Andalus, Madrid, was our favorite part of visiting Madrid. The facilities were peaceful and clean. The tea was delicious, the massage was invigorating, and the baths were one of a kind.

A Little Oasis in the Middle of the Busy City
Feb 2019
When I lived in Madrid I was on the search for thermal baths. I found Hammam and frequented it many times. I also brought family and friends visiting here. They loved it and it is especially relaxing after being a tourist in the city. It is hard to find something similar in the USA that is budget-friendly. It is centrally located in Sol and is a very quiet little oasis. I loved the whole experience every time I went. The hot mint tea is delicious. I wandered in between the steam room and the hottest bath. They do insist on quiet, and unfortunately, during my last two visits, some people still choose to be loud and would not stop talking. Very unfortunate. Not the fault of the spa at all as there are signs posted (English and Spanish) and 'shushers', but I just wish the visitors would have been more respectful. I did just the baths during visits and also treatments. I loved the scrub and massage together. The massage is very relaxing, not the best massage I have ever had, but it made the experience better. They use an essential oil of your choice. If I still lived in Madrid, I would go every month!

Great massage!
Dec 2019 • Solo
The massage I had here was exceptional. I had the 45 Middas experience.

It’s very central and comparatively priced.

The welcome was okay but I have had better in similar places and it wasn’t entirely clear about the bell system. The wristbands was a good way of doing itz

The changing room was nice with lots of supplies/toiletries etc. It quite small.

The hamman is beautiful. There’s a steam room which is lovely 2 warm pools and 1 cold pool. The warmest pool was my favourite. Very relaxing!

There is a relaxing area with tea and places to sit. The tea is lovely.

The soap to take home and glove were nice touches.

The main reason for the loss of a star is customers simply didn’t follow the ‘silence’ rule. It meant I did not feel as relaxed as I should/could have done.
