About
Hammam Al Ándalus Madrid are the only Arab Baths in Madrid, located in the historic center of the city, close to Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol. Our Hammam is the recreation of ancient Arab baths in Al Ándalus. Its decor and ambience created a climate that takes us to a distant past, inviting us to pause in our daily life, to enjoy a moment of relaxation and tranquility. An oasis for relaxation in the heart of Madrid. The Arab Bath consists of a free 90 minutes tour across three baths with different temperatures. Thermal contrasts in water offer relaxation and promote circulation. There is also a steam room and the rest room with a source of tea and the Aromas corner to choose the scent for the relaxing massage, between rose, lavender, violet and red amber. The tour can be completed with our relaxing massages, the Zalema massage or traditional kessa service. Come to Hammam Al Ándalus and immerse yourself in History.

From the moment you walk through the door this place is a haven of peace. Classic Arab baths, without eccentricities, seeking to create an atmosphere that releases all tension. Good facilities and very good treatment. Whenever we can, we overdo it.

Truly a relaxing experience. Having walked for the entire day, I literally fell asleep while in the bath. So soothing, a perfect way to wrap up your tired day in Madrid. One thing I didn’t like, however, was that the water had a smell of a swimming pool, probably from chloride. It would be much better if it was herbal instead of chloride.

Dear Daeyeon,
we are glad to read you enjoyed the time with us and you got the relaxation in our Hammam.
Our pools don't be treated with chloride, we use bromine, which disinfects, doesn't irritate the eyes and is odorless. We will investigate about herbal treatment you are proposing.
We hope to see you again.

Spent our final morning in Madrid here. Nice way to relax and unwind after a few days of fun and before our flight. There are 3 pools- cold, warm and very warm. And a steam room. We added a 15 minute massage which they come find you. The tea is excellent and you can enjoy it through the hours you are relaxing.
Everyone was super nice.
The only negative is the locker room is like a sauna. Getting ready after is a sweaty mess. They have all the necessary items you need- shower, bags for bathing suits, lotion, hair dryer, straight iron, and more.

Dear Happypam13,
we would like to thank you for taking your time leaving us your wonderful review about your experience with us.
As you well said, we have three plung baths with different temperatures (hot, warm and cold), a steam room and a relaxing room where you could taste our delicious mint tea. We also have relaxing and soft scrubbing massage services that you could reserve.
We are working to have in the future more confortable locker room and on the line with the rest of our facilities.
We also think that enjoying our Hammam is the best way to finish your trip to Madrid.
We really hope to see you again soon.
Best regards.

The medina mayrit baths is a great place to relax after touring the art galleries of madrid. The staff are friendly and speak English well (we emailed them to book a time). The bath consists of a steam room, a cold plunge bath and three larger baths (hot, warm cold). There is also a tea room with sweet green tea on tap. The lighting is perfect and the scent is lovely without being too overpowering. It is a place to lie back and do nothing but relax for an hour and a half. During our time myself and my boyfriend had a 15 minute back massage which was great.
This is a wonderful place to chill out and recharge. We went at 6pm and it was nice and quiet but the queu for the 8pm slot as we were leaving was long! I would suggest going during work hours when it's likely to be queiter.

We decided to spend a chunk of our holiday budget on the hammam after it was highly recommended by a friend and we very much needed time to relax. My sister and I were really looking forward to our visit and arrived in what we thought was plenty of time- turns out we had looked at out British mobile for the time and we had forgotten to add an hour on. So completely our fault for arriving late but we didn't find out as no one mentioned anything to us and let us go in and change. We had ten minutes in the pool before being called to our massage. We both thoroughly enjoyed the massage but the relaxing results were quickly gone when we got told that was our time up and had to leave. Once we realised what we had done we went to the reception hoping for some decent customer service and understanding- what we got was a blunt 'no' as it was our fault. We explained again why we had made this error and that we had paid a lot of money for ten minutes in the pool but to no avail- the receptionist literally could not care less and even smiled at another member of staff despite our anguish.
What should have been one of the highlights of our trip left us very annoyed and wasting a lot of money. Would not recommend purely for the sheer lack of interest in customer satisfaction and obvious disregard for the contribution tourism brings to their economy.

A co-worker told me about doing the Hammam in Malaga and I just knew we had to book this. We couldn't decide which day to schedule and by the time I went to book online they were completely booked. I called the number and was able to get two of us in for the waters only. I would have loved to have added the massage but LOVED the waters. This just means that I have to return!
We were instructed to show up 10 mins before our scheduled time with our swimsuits. We were escorted to the men's dressing room and changed. We ventured downstairs to the baths. Our host said to go back and forth between the waters. I wish they had explained where all of the baths were. That was a little confusing.
As you enter the lower area, there is a sauna to the far left. We didn't discover that until close to the end. Be sure and enter the very first pool you see on the left. That is the warmest of the waters. Then move to the next set of steps. A much cooler pool. The cold water plunge pool is to your right and looks more like a water feature than an actual pool. There is a small room with tea.
I highly recommend booking in advance. Enjoy a wonderful afternoon here in the hustle and bustle of touring.

Dear 296gregoryh,
We would like to thank you for taking your time leaving us your opinion about your visit in Madrid.
We are glad to hear you've enjoyed your bath experience and as you say we highly recommend to book in advance due to our limited capacity on every session.
On the other hand, we keep in mind your comment about our steam room's location in order to make it more visible.
We hope to see you again.
Best regards.

There are lots of reviews already about how relaxing the place is so Im going to focus on what actually happens.
I booked online only two days before but I would recommend booking as our session was full. You arrive (get there 5-10mins early) and you are given a towel and some covers for your shoes before being taken to the change room. There you change into your bathers (make sure you bring bathers, you can buy some basic ones there if you forget) and put your clothes/bag into a locker (make sure you have a euro coin for the locker). You are then taken to the bath area. There are 3 baths of different temperatures, a sauna and relax room with tea and water.
I booked to have a 30min massage as well which means I only got 1 hour in the baths. While you are bathing they will come and get you when its time for your massage, no idea how they remember who is who, but they do which is great. The massage was relaxing, not the best I've ever had, but nice.
The staff are very helpful and speak Spanish first. We were the only English speakers in our group so after she had explained what was happening in Spanish, she would come over to us and explain again in English.
Would definitely recommend and would return.

This was a nice experience, but seemed a little expensive at €47 euros each for 1.5 hours and 15 min massage. Also, they were very tight with their towels! I requested a new one for when I showered after (the first was very oily from massage as they cover you with it and wipe you) and they were very put out I would ask! Seems a bit ridiculous when it's merely a towel and you are paying €47 for the privilege! Apparently you can get 20% off with various vouchers which would make more reasonable...quite small venue,!wasn't busy, but wouldn't want to go when it is busy. The mint tea extremely syrupy and sweet!!!

I wouldn't waste your time or money visiting this Hammam.
My friends and I attended the Granada site, and had a blissful and tranquil experience. We thought the Madrid location would be the same, but we were wrong.
There were numerous couples talking loudly, even though signage clearly stated for silence. These same couples were also groping one another and kissing loudly for anyone within the vicinity to see, including a child who had been brought in by her mother.
When staff were approached about the noise level, the lack of relaxation and the couples basically having sex through their bathers they informed us there was nothing they could do about it. My friends and I also spoke to the attendent in charge on the day, and we were told they could do nothing or even offer us a refund.
Seriously if you want to try Arab baths, avoid these ones in Madrid and go to the Hammam in Granada. There is utter silence everywhere and the staff are far more helpful and wish to make the experience blissful and relaxing for all guests.

From start to finish service was professional, polite and attentive. Ambience superb, Hammam authentic experience. Massage good, choice of oils and change of towels added to the efficiency.

Hi, looking for recommendation of which treatment to book as a couple? Also, is there a general time/day it tends to be less busy/crowded? Thanks
Qaisra82
Frederiksberg, Denmark71 contributions
I was told that I had to book at least a week ahead to get a massage for more than 15min, if it was for a day during the weekend... I wanted to have gone for the hot stone massage but could only get a 15min regular massage as I didnt know about the book-ahead rule. It was a nice massage but I could have used at least 15 min more. However the pools were great and I really loved switching between the warmest to the coldest pool. I also enjoyed the steam with the refreshing smell of eucalyptus! 😅
Hey guys so I’ve got the 15 minute massage and body scrub package booked for 4pm for me and my girlfriend and I was wondering do you have the massages together like a couple?
Also do you get access to the hot/cool pools before or after your booked time slot for the massages??
Thanks

We had access to the pools before massage and after. And the massage was as a couple massage and no talking was allowed.

I agree with DonnaGP When you go to their site you choose the package that you want. I took the package that included the 3 pools and a 1/2 hour massage. In total I was there for about 2 hours which is just the right amount of time. It is very organized (come a few minutes before your scheduled time as they let you in as a group and do keep to a schedule) It wasn't crowded when I went-(August at 7pm) Enjoy! You will have a relaxing and enjoyable visit
