About
19 years of history, and Cafe la Palma is one of the most dynamic music venues in Madrid, and a pioneer in the introduction of "first drink" concept. We are placed in Madrid's downtown. Our philosophy is escape from any conventionalism, getting from Cafe la Palma a multi-dimensional place, a labyrinth full of amazing novelties. Cafe la Palma is for sure the best place for leisure and culture, to find all kind of surprises, in a constant process of change, adaptable to your mood. Only decide where to sit, and have some joy. You can sit and have a chat with your friends, with some cups of delicious coffee; enjoy evocative oriental beats an irresistible cocktails in the arab tent; or join into a concert with amazing Madrid's underground bands, or well known pop musicians; or going mad with our dance floor, with best Madrid DJs. We provide a complete variety of services of entertaiment. And our staff is kind, efficient and professional. The dance floor, and concerts hall is for sure the core of Cafe la Palma. We proudly feel like a meeting point for curious, dynamic people. Like our customers, we are sophisticated and opened. All "tribes", all generations are welcome to feed and feel the magic of Cafe la Palma. About live music, our sound is one of the best in Madrid. In our scenario have played Dominique A, Jay Jay Johanson, Amaral, Addictive TV, Kenny Larkin, Ursula 1000, Programme, Mani (Primal Scream), The Gift, Amparanoia, Mala Rodriguez, Cycle, Josele Santiago, The Exception, The Coronas, Sex Museum, Vetusta Morla, Chojin Laziness Izal, Alamedadosoulna, La Bien Querida o Lichis and Goat Mechanics. After live performances, you can enjoy DJ sets with Electronics, Deep, Nu Disco, New Wave, Electro, Minimal, Tech-House and Techno, as well as indofunk, acid- jazz, funk, brazilian & afrocaribbean oriental beats and grooves. But is not only about quality and variety of our music. We are also into many activities, like paints and pictures exhibitions, movie projections and theather. Even our tables are stunning creations of the artistic collective Khrudo. In conclusion, Cafe la Palma is a place in constant change, a essencial reference of Madrid cultural scene.

We probably missed the live music venue and ended up in another "Café la Palma". We had an excellent cheese plate for sharing, though...

The short guy with the long hair, who sometimes runs the open Mic at 9:30 PM is a looser. Me and three friends went there and he said we could not go in because in the previous week I had been disrespectful. He thought I was being disrespectful because I had headphones in when the others were performing. Yet I told him multiple times I only had headphones in because the noise was so loud that I was wearing them to lessen the noise.

So, this guy gets back at me by kicking me and 3 friends out of the open mic that I had prepared for. If this guy didn't want me to go to the open mic anymore he should have told me 2 weeks ago, before I spent time preparing for this week and making plans with others to go. This guy says he is the chief/owner, but I am not sure.

My godness... are you the guy with the laptop, headphones and the bottle with 2 litres of softdrink lemon flavour? This is a LIVE SHOW COFFE BAR. If you want to come up playing at the Open Mic, don't care about the other fellas performings and think is "normal" to bring the drinks from the street... definetly sorry, but CAFE LA PALMA is not your place dude!

We went on open mic night, and the talent was great. There were a lot of American singer-songwriters, too, which was a plus for us. The drinks were priced well, but we didn't get food. What an amazing experience! We would highly recommend!
