Very enjoyable but sadly, no lions.

It's been a fair few years since I last visited a standard zoo and certainly well over a decade since I last visited one quite as large as Zoo Aquarium de Madrid, a strangely... read more

The zoo and aquarium were amazing, Massive zoo and had a large selection of animals including pandas, lions, tigers, dolphins and sharks. we went in summer when the opening times were 10am-10pm you can quite easily spend the full day there. The pandas were so cute as were many other the other animals. there are a number of shows, best... More

We wanted to rent a wheelchair but first of all I was sent from one place to another. Nobody (really) spoke any English. When someone finally took me to the right place, they wanted to keep my passport. I said no (because it is actually illegal for them to keep it) and I couldn't get the wheelchair. They did not... It's been a fair few years since I last visited a standard zoo and certainly well over a decade since I last visited one quite as large as Zoo Aquarium de Madrid, a strangely located zoo in Case de Campo, Madrid. The walk from the nearest metro station felt like a rather strenuous one, especially on a hot summers day... More

Zoo is very easy to get to from the Casa de Campo metro stop. We bought the tickets online as they were cheaper and there was an option to pay in pounds which meant we didn't have to pay the bank conversion costs. Some of the enclosures were quite small for the number or size of the animals. Especially the... More

Easy to get to on metro, zone A, followed by short walk. Zoo is very easy to walk around, because the enclosures ARE SO SMALL. In many cases the viewer has more room than the animal. Most animals had poor coats, sore areas and cages devoid of pleasure. Many showed signs of zoochosis, one elephant not only nodding but squeezing... More

I generally love to visit a zoo as I adore penguins but after visiting Madrid city zoo today I can quite understand why people are so against it The zoo was like a concrete jungle for the animals there was plenty of greenery for visitors but all of the enclosures looked like they had seen better days I struggled to... Went with my family and spent half a day there. The zoo looks like it has certainly seen better days. Some of the enclosures were sad and barren and the shows were rather average. We bought tickets at the gate and spent almost eur100 for the 4 of us which I thought was an absolute rip off. Thankfully the kids... More

We went to this zoo during our recent trip too Madrid. The entrance fee is not bad, considering there are Pandas, and it includes both sea lion and dolphin shows. Both were awesome! This is a great park for children.

This one is a good zoo overall but seals and dolphins shows were gold. Easy, funny and well orchestrated. For viewers some knowledge of Spanish wouldn't hurt. This is also the place where you could get very close to lemur's with no cages or whatever. Pavians section is very educational on how some societies work :) You can get to... More

As the title suggests be careful when using your card to pay for drinks/food at the payment machines. We went for something to eat and they have machines to place your order and pay to speed things up then you take the receipt to the collection point. When using my card it said the payment didn't go through so I... More
