Great time on the trip!

Juan Carlos did a fabulous job. The drinks deals were great and we had enough at each bar to not feel rushed but still see a lot of the city.

Irena was very informative, we enjoyed the tour and learned a lot. Please remember these people are students and tip them like a paid person, it was well worth it.

We went on a pub crawl on a seemingly quiet night in Madrid close to Christmas. But our guide, Silvia, made sure that the gang was engaged and came up with some nice games to engage us. We got a bunch of free drinks and the final club was quite nice too! Kudos to Silvia!

I decided to sign up for the pub crawl with a few friends of mine. It was a great experience and was extremely happy to have done it. Silvia was our guide and was incredibly friendly. She made sure everyone was having a good time and got to see different parts of Madrid. Also, all for a great price!

I went in Madrid alone to have a break from routine life. I met Silvia Madride, a guide who works for Madrid Travel. I spent my time doing the free walking tour. I have had the possibility to know the city enjoying the professional but not too much formally explanations of Silvia about the history and the matter of the... More

Since I am a professional guide my review will be a bit more on a tl;dr side :). That means it's going to be long. But if you're not interested in all the details, just finish reading this paragraph. Here goes the recap - Go for the tour! If your guide will be the girl by the name Sanja, you're... More

I took part in the tapas tour and it was amazing. I loved all the drinks, tried some new tapas I´d never seen before and enjoyed stories about Madris mysteries. Juan Carlos is an amazing guide, really charming and professional. Really recommend!

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
