The fountain and palace of Cibeles are best lighted structres in Madrid during chrismas. The palace had a 15 minute light and sound show on it at 8.30 PM on 22nd December which was spectacular. This plaza is a must see in Madrid.

This is one of the highlights of Madrid. A classical and beautiful statue of Cybeline riding a chariot by a fountain in the centre of the roadway. A backing of a huge wedding cake style building that is the Post Office. A memorable scene that you will never forget.

My wife and I arrived at Plaza de Cibeles when we came into Madrid on the Airport Express bus. It is a beautiful plaza with the Cit Hall in the background. Our Airbnb was only three blocks away from the plaza.

Attractive open space when not filledwith traffic where the Calle Alcala crosses the Paseo de Castellaneo. Several attractive buildings and an impressive fountain in the middle with a Celtic like figure i a chariot. You may be pushed tlo get a decent photo of the fountain.

Quite busy traffic but sidewalks are broad and effective pedestrian crosswalks which are well respected by drivers. The buildings are majestic, especially the old national post office headquarters. ( the large ornate white building)

In the Madrid's city center, in one of the most main squares, Plaza de Cibeles is allocated. I was there when Real Madrid won the Champions Cup and all the team players and coach were celebrating the victory there with the people. Unforgettable memories as long as i may live.

It's a very busy street with lots of cars zooming by. Metro stop is right next to it. Many tourists taking pictures of the statue and building. It's a very busy roundabout.

Both the fountain with the statue of Cibeles and the Palace Cibeles are one of the most beautiful places in Madrid. I prefer the night tour where you can take the last red hop-on bus and admire this wonderful place together with the lively Gran Via, which ends there!
